The singer of Highly Suspect is super talented, and you can definitely tell his emotions are purely put on pad and paper and sung for us to feel. In the 2016 song "Little Ones", he even says, "How long must I justify my pain through these songs?" Powerful stuff. He's been putting all of his emotions in his music for a long time now. And I love the band for that.

You prob already know this now but just in case you dont.... when you hear a song on the radio or TV and you want to know who it is...ask Google or siri. Say hey google...whats the name of this song? U can even hum the song or say the few lyrics you know. I often take the 1 or 2 verses I can remember and type them into a search bar on Google and it always finds it. Or if you know who it is and the chorus but not the actual song name, do the same thing, type into a Google search.

"16" tells the heartbreaking true story of Highly Suspect frontman Johnny Stevens falling in love for the first time at 16 years old. After seven years together, his girlfriend told him the joyful news she was pregnant with their baby. However, at the moment of the birth, Stevens was devastated to learn that the baby was a different race and therefore wasn't his. Stay strong king

The symbolism behind him looking like hes going to rob a bank shows the viewer how much he didn't belong in that scene. Almost like everyone knew he didn't belong there, he stood out so much out of place. The mask is basically his guard, he let it down and sure enough he knew he shouldn't of.

This song hits me hard and deep, I never really listened to the second verse and what it was saying until I saw the video. I went through the exact same thing, about two years ago, I was with a girl that cheated on me and I found out later on after I realized that she was pregnant. She swore up and down the kid was mine, we were going to stay together and I forgave her and decided that we were going to have a life together, until the baby came out. Whenever he goes into the hospital wearing all of this protective armor and bandana over his face means that he has put his guard up because he is scared of the outcome. It's his emotional armor. At the end he pulls down the bandana while she's giving birth because he let his guard down and his emotions got the best of him. But yet when the baby comes out , he is lifted into the air because he realizes that he is free from that point. He is free from her games, he is free from that life at that point. And whenever he hits the ceiling he pulls the bandana up because he has put up his emotional armor yet again. So no one can see the real him, no one can penetrate through to him. Stuff like that can really change a man. I still struggle with letting anybody into my psyche, and letting my guard down so that someone can see the real me so I can actually be in a real relationship.
@audreycronin2621

I took the part where everybody was lifted as a metaphor for how everything thing they thought to be true was something completely different so I can imagine how it could've been incredibly difficult to separate reality from the lies and wonder if anything they had was real.

I did end up checking out more of their music. California dreaming is a great one. I think that's what it's called. Y3ah its really good stuff. The thing about 16 is that when you,re young you,re a different kind of person. Then you grow a few years and find that you both have grown in different directions. You have aspirations and an idea what you want to do with your life. Maybe you grew and the other stayed in the same spot mentally. Life is crazy. One day you think you have it all figured out. The next you,re ready for change and realize the time spent may have been in vain.

One particular part of the brain - the superior temporal sulcus (STS) - responds to Songs. Now in the middle of the STS, the lyrics and tune are being processed as a single signal. But in the anterior STS, only the lyrics are being processed. This may be because no individual, complex processing occurs for melody. The brain first deals with music and lyrics together. Then, after passing through the mid-STS more complex processing kicks in, such as understanding what lyrics mean, and the two are treated separately. And the more they are processed, the more they are separated, So, probably the same way it happens to everyone else. One listens to the song but doesn't actually hear all the lyrics until they've heard it a few times. Peace

AND forgive yourself even though you shouldn't have to cause you weren't doing anything wrong in the first place, it is a God given right to do as you please with your own body! I will concede that there those of us who may tend towards over consumption of substances but in the end we are all just searching for what makes us feel whole and at ease with ourselves..... Tell me how can that be illegal it's aright granted to us in our pledge of allegiance say it with me...... Life, Liberty, and what else..... That's right the pursuit of happiness so as long as your not hurting someone else all drug laws should be abolished we have laws to deal with crimes against ppl same for guns what part of shall not be infringed do ppl not get goes for felons also once your done with your time and you" paid your debt to society" All rights should be reinstated but no you might just have a lifetime right taken away the funny thing is I don't believe any citizen has ever had a vote on any of these issues

The way he looks back and realizes how lonely it must of been for her at that moment says a lot about the heart of this individual. “I’d say I’m sorry if I ever see you again, that day, I walked away when you probably needed a friend. It chokes me up

LYRICS It took me sixteen years to find ya One second to love ya Seven years to hold ya One minute to lose ya Oh, God Where did I go wrong? Oh, God Do you remember All of the nasty shit you used to do with me? 'Cause I remember everything And do you remember When we hopped the P and B to NYC? You were only seventeen But that puppy love is over We're so much older Nothing's ever gonna feel the same way That it did when we were younger I wish that I could hold ya Baby, I know it's over We're never gonna feel it again, yeah It took me sixteen years to find ya One second to love ya Seven years to hold ya One minute to lose ya Oh, God, ay Where did I go wrong? Yeah Do you remember Oh, when I was your king and you were my queen? Yeah, 'cause I remember everything Do you remember When you told me you were holding my future kid? Ay And all the joy that that would bring Well I thought I was the father But baby, it's not my daughter 'Cause baby's a different color And baby, I'm not a brother It was just too much to swallow You ripped my heart out But that puppy love is over We're so much older Nothing's ever gonna feel the same way That it did when we were younger I wish I could hold ya But baby, I know that it's over We're never gonna feel it again Well, it took me sixteen years to find ya One second to love ya Seven years to hold ya And just one minute to lose ya Oh, God, yeah Where did I go wrong? Yeah Like where did you go? Oh And I'll say I'm sorry if I ever see you again, oh (oh whoa, oh) 'Cause on that day, I'll walk away When you probably needed a friend It took me sixteen years to find ya One second to love ya I don't trust you But I still love you Oh, God Where did I go wrong? Where did you go? Where did I go wrong? Baby, it took me sixteen years to find ya But only a second to love ya Seven years to hold ya And just one minute to lose ya Oh, God, yeah Where did I go wrong? Yeah Where did you go? Yeah Where did we go wrong? Said, where did we go wrong? Where did I go wrong? Yeah Oh yeah

The whole cut was anticipation of “a bomb being dropped/let off”. The bomb happen to be the mixed child when it arrived , hence it blew everyone away - this is why they were ascending . When he put the rag back on it was him saying ‘I don’t know you anymore and / or I’m covering my emotions

I like this song very easy to remember lyrics and beat. I think we all know this situation and know how it feels to be betrayed and lied to by a loved one. We often wonder if it's our fault, regretting past decisions.

That cry at the end that the actress did when she realized she would lose her love forever because of a stupid mistake or one night stand. That's what I felt from it. The feeling of absolute regret and realizing she will be haunted by this loss for the rest of her life. Like the feeling of realizing you accidentally killed someone. wow
