"I wish that everyone I knew was dead." The first line was how I discovered this band because it's what I was feeling at the time I was dealing with a heavy school and work load. And shockingly, those lines that followed, _"So I would never have to pick up the phone"_ described my exact reason for wishing so. It was uncanny how those lyrics expressed what was written on my mind.

First, I don't know how I missed this 7 years ago. Second, I grew up in the 90's during the grundge era with Pearl Jam, Soundgarden etc. Hearing this band for the first time reminds me of that era. This is the power of rock and roll my friends. What a great song and a great band.

This song evokes so much emotion for me. The guitar just tickles every little bit of my emotional brain and sends me into euphoric tears almost every time. Serotonia was such a god damn perfect name for this song. This is art.
@lizzieswaders5 жыл бұрын
I get mad goosebumps at 5:47 where he sings the line 'I can feel it too' with the most euphoric look on his face, then at 5:53 when he sings the line 'I'm afraid of you,' that look disappears and it transforms into a sad, strangely confused expression that feels eerily familiar to me. Every single intricacy of his face is perfect at showing the blend of emotions that he feels. Johnny is fucking incredible in this video. MCID.

These guys deserve success. Their music has gotten me through one of the hardest times in my life. Not only are they some of the most talented people out there, but they are also very down to earth. They truly care about their fans, and care about music. I met them at one of their shows in Alabama. I had posted a cover of their song bath salts on Instagram a while back and they remembered me and took the time to talk to me about music and told me to never give up. I was so close, but these guys cared enough to make sure I didn't. They truly deserve the best, I've been listening to them for forever now. Its such a good feeling to see how far they have come. Thank you Highly Suspect for everything, your music, your insanely good looks, and your kindness. Nothing can hold them back, and I'm so glad I was blessed with the chance to meet these amazing guys. It takes a lot to stay down to earth, and to sincerely care about the people supporting them and this band does a great job at both. #mcid for life

Bad*ss! I can't believe the last comments on this video are from 5 years ago. Is there anybody out there? Johnny . . . holy heck, man . . . you are the only singer alive who compares to the great Layne Staley. You sing, like Layne did, from the depths of your soul. Very few singers have this ability to make someone feel so many complex emotions. I am moved beyond words listening to this over and over . . . all of the nuances behind the words. Can we all just take a moment to appreciate how fucking amazing all his subtle facial expressions are? Because, damn. The way he seems all open and straightforward, makes me uncomfortable everytime - in a good way - like I'm seeing something personal I'm not supposed to. It's like his all alone, talking to himself in the mirror or something, when in reality there's probably a fucking crew behind the camera recording everything - well, it's all kind of impressive. (Another thing to appreciate is how the video matches the lyrics and what the song is supposed to be about, while not being glaringly obvious in doing so.)

THIS SONG CHANGED MY LIFE. I watched this video 2 month’s ago for the first time. I just watched it again and cried. Due to childhood trauma, I had a block that I couldn’t shake for so long. I wanted to be a good person so badly, but I kept making stupid mistakes. I would blame myself for everything and get depressed, and I hated myself for it. In short, I was over stimulated with negativity, and the excitement of it subconsciously kept me half in and half out of the light; I wanted to be good but I needed to throw a wrench in the gears here and there. I couldn’t ever fully commit to the light. This song has brought my thoughts to light.. I’ve identified my demons, and learned to live with them. IT FEELS SO GOOD TO EMBRACE THE LIGHT JOHNNY!!! Such nihilistic lyrics. They've taken all the cliche 'life and love' song lyrics and written something flipping them off. Showing the opposite spectrum of people who don't get such idealistic experiences[ which is also closer to reality]. I'm glad stuff like this also exists.

Hey brother I know it's an old comment I just want to hear how you're doing man. I just turned 33 and have had a heroin, fentanyl and benzo addiction since I was 17. Having an opioid and benzo habit together is literally the most dangerous combo and of course it would have to be my favorite, I handled it for a very long time until I was 26 when the needles came into the equation and it all changed and got sooooo fvcking bad. I went to prison, got clean, got out, got injured so bad I was on life support for weeks and when I got I put I couldn't walk and was in HORRENDOUS pain so my addiction now was partly legal and when that couldn't keep up I turned back to the streets I've always known. I slowly learned to walk again, but I'm still disabled and have gotten my habit finally back down to almost nothing. I'm going Cali sober this summer because I'm just so done with the pain, desperation, loneliness, burying my friends and the law that won't leave me alone. They know me from wayyyyy back in 2012 when I was running buck ass wild and racked up cases, but I did my time and walked down my parole yet they have continued to harass me into financial ruin by making up traffic violations I supposedly did and they're the biggest liar's I've ever seen in my life. Anyway fvck them, I hope you have continued to beat the struggle brother. I know the weight this disease puts on our shoulders, but it's our burden to bear and we will conquer it. We deserve to live in happiness and hope, and we'll NEVER have either with that chain around our neck. Good luck and Godspeed my friend, you got this!

Have you ever been genuinely in love with someone, wanted to make them happy, taken care of them in every possible way, felt like you would die without them? If you have then good. I want you to start looking at yourself as the person you're in love with. Develop a fucking crush on yourself, love everything about yourself, do beautiful things for yourself. Agree with yourself often and value each moment you get to spend with yourself. This is what's wrong with the world, we are taught to put others first, and while they are definitely important and worthy of our love, in the end, we spend our entire lives alone. Be the reason you want to get up each day.
