Well, grown up is relative. She was 12 on AGT and 13 when she wrote Moonlight and performed it in this video. She´s 17 now, a seasoned singer-songwriter with a 40-50 song catalogue under her belt, several tours, live performances. Great reaction! Grace is a force of music! I believe it is only a matter of time before she has a hit and then, hopefully, her back catalog of music will be discovered. There are a lot of her songs, that I consider to be masterpieces, sung, written and performed by a 12-17 year old girl. Amazing!

Thanks for the reaction - Grace was only 13 when she released Moonlight and was 12 on AGT. She has kind of dropped the ukulele from her released work in the last couple of years (she is now 17 by the way) but quite often uses it in livestreams to this day. If you want to come bang up to date with the latest iteration of Grace, you could react to her latest single "Don't assume what you don't know" or Grace has a new single hopefully released in the next 2 weeks or so called "Repeat". LOL You have a bit of catching up to do, This is when she was thirteen, now she is seventeen, and considered to be one of the best upper-tier compositional artists and songwriters in the industry. Even Disney allowed her to write and produce her original songs in their movie ( Star-Girl ) never been done by a minor ever before. Thank you for the reaction. This is a song about depression, and she couched the serious subject in an upbeat melody. She wrote this song when she was thirteen. Genius.

You could write a book about this young lady and her journey so far. From her appearance on AGT where she didn’t care about winning at first, just went there to people watch and then ended up winning the whole thing. To her first album coming out that same year in November and still becoming the best selling EP of that year. Since then she has become a more diverse artist with not only her music, (4th album coming out soon) but also now starring in the lead role of “Star Girl” the movie, with a sequel coming. She’s also a model and does some production on her own as well. Too many things to go over here. I will say that she’s a little bit like quicksand, once you take that step, it’s hard to get away, be carful. Some days you can fall in love with her and other days she can piss you off, and I think the industry feels the same way about her. But that’s cool, too many sheep out there and she is by no means a sheep!

She wrote this about her sister going through a mental illness at the time, on the same album she wrote a song for her brother called a better life he was going through a drug addiction. She was playing the ukulele and is a fender signature artist for the ukulele they made two ukuleles in her name. You have alot of great songs to react to and I know you will love them all btw in sure someone has mentioned it but she won agt in 2016 at age 12 singing 4 original songs.

She wasn't just in the contest. She won it. She is also a very good actress. Check Stargirl movie in Disney+. She wrote and recorded, at 14 years old, and while filming was going on, the song that she plays at the end credits.

She has soooo much music out there. Moonlight is the song that got me on this great journey with Grace. Seen the whole AGT season and I knew she was going to win. It was mind-blowing to me, as a musician, that a 12 yr old could write lyrics like that and arrangements that are pure genius. She went back to AGT a year later and performed Moonlight as a guest. That's when I got hooked. Found out later that the stage arrangement was her idea, and it was massive. She came out with a confidence I've never seen for such a young person. And that live performance was amazingly professional. Whenever you listen to her, always check out the lyrics. Sometimes they're in the video description. Well, actually she's playing the ukulele here. But she's 17 now and has pretty much dispensed with the ukulele in favor of the guitar and the rock genre. Don't Assume What You Don't Know is her latest single, with her newest EP to be released this summer. I think you'll be amazed by the change and how her voice has become even more powerful. And she still writes or co-writes all of her songs.

Moonligth is a composition by Grace, released on June 21, 2017, by Syco Music and Columbia Records and is the lead single from VanderWaal's debut album Just The Beginning. Grace performed the song live at VidCon and released a music video for “Moonlight” on her KZbin channel Vevo on July 20, 2017. This demonstrates a level of maturity and genius on the composer's part. The rhythm is wonderful and her expression is perfect, congratulations and "always success" !!!

Mandolin? It's a Ukulele. Britain's Got Talent? She's American. How can her voice improve when you barely know who she is? One of the compliments she got a lot from Magazines and News Outlets during AGT was the total control she had over the "raspy breaks" in her voice and how cleverly she used them. I think your confusing her with Angelina, she didn't "grow up and stick with her dreams" she did the AGT audition for the fun of it, she had no idea she was this good. Thanks Highly combustible reactions ,good job. Moonligth was the flagship of Grace Vanderwaal's beautiful composition, paving the way for more than 40 compositions, all of excellent quality. The music has a great rhythm, the theme, in my opinion, was very well done considering the young age of the composer at the time. Grace is undoubtedly a great artist, songwriter and singer and one of the things that stands out most about her career is her resilience and passion for what she does, she is incredible! "Success always"!!!
