I love the AMG GT - when I went to the local dealer to buy my E400, I nearly bought the wrong (right) car. That said, I think I would find the lack of opportunities to stretch its legs deeply frustrating - it’s rare to use the full 340bhp/700Nm of the E-Class. I do love, though, how the AMG looks, and that engine is to die for - every journey would be an event (albeit maybe a frustrating event). Congratulations on the subscription milestone - you’ve deserved it 💪

I guess this is a purebred Collector Car! It is a bit noisy inside, is that the tires? This Car's cost is not about tax, or MOT, it is the fuel & maintenance, like tires etc. Greeetings!

I've been binge watching/listening to your videos like crazy since I found your channel. Your voice is really pleasant to listen to. You could start a podcast easily and imo it would be really popular. I'm in a middle of doing my driving licence and can't wait to get behind the wheel. Have watched your videos for years, I always check the latest one out even if I've got no interest in buying the car featured! Definitely keep buying (and talking about) the cheaper cars, not just Citroen C1's but reasonable estates, hatchbacks etc. So many KZbinrs start out relatable but by their 3rd lambo half their subscribers are bored stiff. You should get a microphone that reduces background noise, very useful for videos like yours where there's engine and road noise. Maybe one that attaches on your jumper. Also when you're mention numbers/statistics, they should pop up on the screen. Makes it easy to follow you along. I didn't realise just how much road noise there was until I paused the video, I could still hear it even when the video was paused 🤣🤣

the channel is really good, a honest documentary of what car business is like. Thanks for that. Will continue to watch! On the GT costs, it will be fine in the first year or two but once you get to it being a bit elderly, discs will cost a bit, and insurance will be individual for everyone. It's a bit more expensive. £1991 is quite a bit a year for a car that's almost brand new..

Very sweet ride, and your experience matches the reality for most well maintained modern sport cars. We have to keep in mind that when things go well, people don't share in the internet most the time, they just use it and that's it. They show up and share the experience when something goes horribly wrong, so the info out there is skewed towards bad experiences. Shit happens ofc but keeping up with the maintenance is probably all you will have to do until you get bored and eventually sell it.

I the U.S. the "road tax" carries by what state you live in. Some states have a flat fee regardless of the car, in Minnesota it is sort of based on the current value of the car. Our new CR-V is over $600, my '14 Accord is about $200. My collectable car, a '65 Corvair is a one time fee for the current owner, never pay again. My Corvair is almost exactly the same blue.😎

I brought a 06 CLK 320 cdi elegance paid £1500 2 owners father and son full history Mercedes and Mercedes specialist up November last year so I have owned it know a month and a bit averaging over 30mpg insurance fully comp £240 and road tax £360. I don’t think I will loose on the car different class to yours but a different class to all the mundane cars I have owned previously in the past. Enjoying owning the car at the moment. Owned mine a couple of years now. A fair review. I had a camera fail which was about a grand to replace! The TC intrusion is awful and the exhaust when open is a bit droney… otherwise it’s a great ‘sports car’ not super car!

Why not do a "Should you buy" or road test on the VW UP GTI. I know you are not keen on hot hatches unless you have one to sell, then they are fantastic, lol but seriously they are excellent cars. Reasonable cost to buy, well made, quick enough in todays traffic and good MPG. They have all the toys heated seats, cruise control as an extra cost option and they look good. I never see you attach Trade Plates in your road test videos but i guess you do that off camera. You did not mention obtaining trade plates when you did the video on starting out in the motor trade. I found this to be a real pain obtaining them when i was starting out in the trade in the 60s. Now long retired and enjoying every minute. Being retired is the best job i have had. Keep up the good work my friend and all the best.

Geopolitical analyst Peter Zeihan spoke about EVs and the functional impossibility of mining and refining all of the materials required to produce the number of EVs they are claiming they're going to mandate by 2030; the other problem is generating and distributing power enough to charge said vehicles, let alone how to plug them in for most British street parking. I actually doubt we're going to see the whole thing pushed through on the claimed schedule; particularly with global supply chains breaking down as they appear to be. In short - I don't really think we're going to see conventionally engined vehicles go away when claimed, they might have to hang around a fair bit longer than expected.

@@HighPeakAutos about a decade or more ago there was a process using gasification and a second method which could make gasoline like biofuel from regular farm waste for a lower price than the average of gasoline drawn from shale or regular market sources. Anything to do with fuel is highly dubious in terms of actually making it to market though even if it's the perfect product sadly... Maybe you could run the AMG on scotch like a Lord did decades ago?

Hi Matt, Great channel. Thanks for the content. Question: When you buy a trade vehicle (“I bought a cheap…”) how can you drive these cars around without displaying your trade plates? Or do you actually display them and remove them for the camera shots? I follow rob and Chris from salvagebuilds too and rob always “snags” the cars for a couple of hundred miles before selling on.. I was under the impression that trade plates were for buying/selling/test drives/to-from MOT’s, repairs etc. thanks again for the content 😊

The engine in these are incredible. I had a GLC 63 AMG basically the same engine and same power. I averaged 22mpg. I wish id never swapped it. the cracks and pops on downshift where smile inducing even after 40k miles. I had a mad urge to have a X3M so I swapped it for one. I wish I hadn't. I miss the engine and box everyday. the X3M is a better car far carrying the kids and its just as fast but you have to redline it everywhere. im getting 18mpg in this. The GLC price stabilised and the X3M has dropped like a stone.

WRONG Matt, If a recent report is anything to go by, done by the RAC into EV ownership , stated "Most EV drivers would have preferred buying and running a self charging hybrids, instead of waiting hours for recharging the batteries after midnight till 7AM when prices again rise to full cost." See and if like up with us in Scotland, recharging posts are infrequent to find that work as they are meant to. It is a FAFF by the Governments - no matter who is in power !!
