I daily drive a 2017 and I’m in love. The feel that’s delivered through the steering wheel is so spot on. I feel everything (in a good way). I’ve never felt so connected to a car.

What a fantastic looking and sounding car, it sounds brilliant with the exhaust fully open, I'm in my 50's and I don't think I'd have any problem getting in and out of it, try a 1973 Triumph Spitfire which I had back in the day, the windscreen overlaps the cabin entry, I couldn't count the number of times that I belted my knee off of it when I got into it lol, great review though, I always click the like button on your videos as soon as it starts as I know that I will be watching a quality review, I've never been disappointed yet.

A beautiful car and definitely a keeper. It’s got that touch of real class. Listening to your description of the GTS , it struck me how similar the GTS is to my RWD f type R (both can be terrifying!) . Except the f type has the party trick of quiet cruising in comfort setting, which makes it a lovely long distance GT. I can’t afford to daily the f type though because I do lots of short journeys. Lets hope there’s some type of fuel for us in the future.

Tip for changing songs or stations on the multimedia screen while in Nav (or anywhere) - press the play/pause button on the centre touchpad, a little toaster message pops up on the centre screen of what is currently being played, then slide right or left on the touchpad (or turn the big toggle wheel) to jump to next or prev song/station.

Dude, your decription of owning one of these is so good. You're really good at content - keep it up I bought a Porsche Taycan 4s X Turismo last year (which I think is the best car I have owned) , and I love it. However, I needed a weekend pertrol car, so I bought a GTS in April. I had a couple of months of joy, but then someone in a minibus crashed into it outside my house. It looked like only small scratch on the body and back passenger wheel. I sent it to Merc, who sent it to one of their specilaists here in Essex. 3 months later, £17,000 worth of damage due to suspension (paid by their insurance), I'm still waiting for it to be returned. Summers gone now, but I don't see me selling this. It's the perfect car that gets respect from everyone whether they like cars or not. I think you need to drive one before you make a comment on it. I only watched this video because I miss it., It's due back mid sept. Cant wait for silly power through the back wheels again. Keep up the good. I like this down to earth content

If you can't stretch to this budget, a much cheaper option is an AMG C43 Coupe. I had one the same colour blue as this GTS with the glass roof and it was a fantastic car. I had it remapped at DMS, so it was producing 467Bhp, its was all wheel drive, so it wouldn't try kill you every winter and it sounded amazing (videos don't do it justice, sounded like a super bike at times). It wouldn't get as much attention as the GTS, but it did get a lot and people were always nice, as he says, the right kind of attention.

I love that car and really wanted one. Agree…a timeless classic… gorgeous. Then drove it, not for me, in fact gutted. The 911 had finesse, balance, handling, speed, great driver visibility & deep engineering, the Merc was like a US muscle car. Trouble was I’ve had 911’s and in comparison they’re now not special. So decided to specialise and found a lovely low mileage Merc AMG S63 coupe for GT cruising and a Ferrari F430 for sports car engagement.
@OKANGUVEN992 жыл бұрын
which is faster? s63 or f430. I would assume s63 would get you in more trouble when you floor it.
@neilgaydon54302 жыл бұрын
@@OKANGUVEN99 Depends…straight line the AMG, winding roads f430. The s63 was Mercedes quietest car built with double glazing etc designed to disconnect you from the road with bottomless power so you rarely think about the driving experience. It is wonderful for driving big GT miles in a day but somewhat numb for nimble connected fast driving. The Ferrari is the complete opposite…designed to connect you to the driving experience with an engine noise that sounds like Pavarotti accompanying you on every journey, where you feel every nuance of the road, focusing on what gear you select from the manual box, where you’re totally connected and so much fun to drive…BUT you wouldn’t particularly look forward to 500 miles of motorway in the driving rain in comparison to the Merc. 2 very different cars for very different experiences.

Stunning colour Matt and a beast of a handsome car. I get it. Turned your head even from a Jaguar XKR 5.0 SC which is one of your most watched reviews and a car you said you’d buy one day. I have a such an XKR in kyanite blue same mileage as your AMG and love it as much as you do your AMG GTS. I prefer the XKR lines so like you, will never sell the XKR and it was half the price of your AMG. It is not as technically competent of course as the GTS, but has the room for an XKR in your collection now been usurped by your AMG? Great review. Keep them coming. Jan
