It depends on your .22 gun. For instance the gamo magnum has far more stopping power than a hatsun .22 cal but the hatsun is about $230 and 12 shots vs the gamo $450 10 shot and alot harder to break the barrel. But alot more power and thats why its hard the break the barrel.

When I was a kid at the age of 12, 50 years ago we used to have Daisy BB guns. We did not miss our designated target period. We were just as deadly with sling shots. In the south Mississippi area we had a tree that had some quarter size balls on it and when hit it kinda goes poof and little fuzzy things went everywhere. Our favorite pastime was having BB gun wars along with green pine comb used as hand grenades.

Chelsea Threlfall I fully understand where you’re coming from. Air rifles are enough to take a deer with 20fpe to the brain, but no one should ever do it unless it’s a shtf scenario and desperate to feed their family. 22-250 is a highly accurate round. Chelsea Threlfall we raise our own 350-400 lbs Yorkshire pigs for meat. When it’s time for slaughter I use a 20 gauge slug 12-24 inches from skull drawing a x from the eyes to the ears aiming center. The pigs still twitch even after severing the main artery in the neck. It’s nerves traveling from the brain to extremities which causes the twitching.

Is that twitch just post mortem movement? Certain shots with larger rounds may prevent that because severing the cerebellum disconnects the bodies nervous system to the residual energy left in the brain which may prevent that, however if you've ever ripped a chickens head off you'd think otherwise, they carry on like they never even needed the damn thing.

Superb shots. Hitting an egg-sized hog's brain from 20 yards takes excellent eyesight and fantastic aim, especially since a rest was not used. Never would have believed an air-rifle pellet could drop a hog dead.

Wow indeed Gamo the leading rifle
@zorin553 ай бұрын
Great shooting there am glad the rocket pellets work well in the Gamo, I tried them in my Air Venturi Avenge-X an got a 6 inch spread at best, but I have learned to find what works in the rifle that you have best. Again great shooting.

Very Nice Shot's! But i just checked out Hogwild Adventures web-page for pricing, I honestly cant say those two little pigs were worth $350 , hog wild says you can get two up to 80 pounds each, lets be honest how many 50+ pound hogs are running around? Id love to get some Fresh Free Range Pork for the freezer but living 3 states away from Texas (fuel Guessing $150 + $350 for the hunt = $500) makes for a pretty expensive price per pound. If there such a nuance animal in the south why is it so expensive to hunt them?
@HighRoadHunting7 жыл бұрын
You can't fault land owners for wanting to make some money for an animal that people are willing to pay to hunt, now can you?
@patriotpioneer7 жыл бұрын
Again i say If there such a nuisance animal in the south why is it so expensive to hunt them, i can see maybe $50/a Head( i didn't say landowners don't deserve to make a profit) but lets be real here they aren't exactly caring for them or feeding them like Monster Trophy Buck's in a Private Breeding Reserve where there is constant game management & a breeding program.

All im saying its a sad day when the average Joe cant afford to go hunting for something that the Government & Farmers both say is a nuisance. 80% of every body i know that hunts does it to provide for their families not to put trophies on a wall

Texas land owners don't want a bunch of idiots trashing and shooting up their land. There are plenty of public hunting grounds for you if you don't have land of you're own.

I have a Gamo Swarm Magnum 10x Gen II and also have outstanding groups at 25 yds (on average about 0.4"). When shooting large (and ornery) game at that close a range shot placement is the key. You really should go for a frontal lobe head shot ideally or a base of the skull shot to sever the spinal cord. The second will not be an instantaneous kill but the first will be.

This is really impressive. An great shots too. Im looking forward to buying my own cheap air rifle to just shoot at targets for fun. I love that you managed to get a good shot on both of them
