I would have totally advocated breaking rule 1 (never split the party) for this. The ladies for the ground crew (melee with some healing and Nova for support/return teleportation) and the guys for the ranged skyship sniping. Mark made it sound like each side just needed a bit of extra help lol. Another excellent showing for the HR crew :3

I never really cry about real world stuff. And I think I only cried a couple times during critical role campaign 2. However, I've cried more in my entire life than when I started watching HR a couple years ago, not just Aerois, but just them playing dnd in general. Marks style of story telling in conjunction with everyone's incredible rp ability makes for such heart wrenching entertainment. in all the best ways, of course. I wish this group could drink forever from the fountain of youth so they can play DND forever. I know they enjoy playing as much as we enjoy watching.

I would be fascinated with a "behind the scenes" or "how to DM" series from Mark explaining how he runs his games. The Hadar/Breeze scenes are SO damned good, but it seems like either he made them up on the spot OR he has reams and reams of things that are prepared for each game, knowing he may not use most of it.

I agree with Tom on healing - but it's how it's designed. Healing really is supposed to be weak until you can cast 6th level spells or have extra lower-level spell slots you don't use a lot. If you're fighting monsters who can't outdamage your healing, you're probably not even getting hit very often, or you're fighting a smaller number of monsters. And yeah, monsters can cast spells too... Or breathe fire and shit.

So now that I’m all caught up if things can happen in the background of gusthaven with all the Technology advancements going on can they build the first ever body from scratch of a brand new guardian waiting for sentry to come and give it life? If so I’m assuming the community would love to put in Applications for what type of fighter this guardian would be, but for it to make sense in my head it would be a level 20 Eldridge knight with armor of invulnerability and a amulet of health with a built in feather fall rune that automatically activates when falling. +3 greatsword with most magical abilities themed around lighting. I call it “project Zeus”

If anyone has control weather, they could cause a terrible hail storm. Horizon would be able to deal with it seeing as it’s a literal flying city and the people can seek shelter, the smaller airships probably would be forced to land. Then horizon can hover over the enemy forces and just start dropping stuff on the , like spare furniture or bricks, an entire house if they’re willing to, on to the earthbound aircraft. The enemy land force would have a difficult decision to make, postpone a large scale assault indefinitely, perhaps giving enough time for reinforcements to arrive, or launch a full scale ground assault under a hail storm against a fortified position, where the defenders could easily shatter buildings in front of them, slowing the assault even more while retreating as they are pelted with chunks of ice.

Sentry was a very advanced model made to protect and help raise a princess so I'd imagine she'd be equipped with more emotional expression than most other Guardians. Though, Sentry being part wood, it could be a discharge of watery sap as opposed to normal tears.

Hadar: You get PTSD, and you get PTSD, everyone gets PTSD in my presence! It would be interesting if in the future the group was assigned an espionage/intel-gathering mission and Lucius would be the best spy because he would have the best disguise to crossdress as a woman I mean he has the looks, the long luscious hair, and his eyes won't be suspected for being a spy but they'll be suspected for being very beautiful and of all disguises, a cross-dressing disguise is the least suspicious of your true identity. ok ok ok this is for a fact just my opinion please don't start anything just what I think. This campaign has been better then both of the critical roll ones. I know I know everyone loves crit role and so do i trust me. But this just has so much of what I love in a game. I really don't know how else to describe it. BEST D&D CAMPAIGN ON THE INTERNET PERIOD (again just my personal opinion)

I will say as a disclaimer I have not watched much of the CritRole series but from watching clips and bits of both campaigns I’ve felt that High Rollers is more a mix of great story telling / Dming, personal and inspiring characters but also humour, fun and games as well as game mechanics and a bit of meta gaming to keep it nerdy haha - It feels like High Rollers has it all and I think it’s brilliant

I couldn't get into Critical Role, but I love how close and natural everything feels in Highrollers. Just a bunch of friends having fun and I'm here for it!

I do agree, mainly for 2 reasons: 1. Group size. While as professionals the CR crew are much better at managing a very large group than the regular dnd group, even they still have problems with it. With so many people, it's going to take a while before you are involved again so you get distracted and stop actually notocing the game. This is especially big during combat. HR has a smaller group, so this os much less of a problem, making for a more focused and enjoyable game. 2. While both streams are both a show for the audience and a game for the players, CR feels much more like a show while HR feels much more like a regular game of dnd at the home table. In this sense HR feels more homely, immersive, comfortable etc... missing a stream of CR doesn't feel bad because you always feel you can just bingewatch them later. HR feels like a dnd session you are a part of, and if you don't immediately watch it while it streams / without pausing it feels like you were just late to the game

Personally I think its sad how in every single video HR fans feel the need to say they are better then CR. Frankly it just seems like you're trying to convince yourselves more then anything. Meanwhile CR fans almost never feel the need to make similar comments on their videos. In fact whenever I do see HR mentioned it's done so with much more respect and no claims of superiority. I enjoy both shows. Both have their positives and negatives. But this constant whining every video about HR being superior is making me feel the HR fanbase is extremely unwelcoming and toxic. (This is the only time I have responded to one of these comments and the only time I ever will. I only did so because its becoming too much to keep staying silent on.)

i need a DM to allow this unique player mechanic, so my character has be cursed to hunger for flesh ever day i have to roll a D20 against my intelligence to see if the blood lust takes over with every success the success chance increases by 1, however in battle whenever any flesh and blood creature is cut i have to do a blood lust roll, if i fail i randomly attack the closes sources of flesh around me until i hit (enemy, ally civilian, animal or fresh/rotten corpse), however the doing so heals 1 D6. Thought there are three ways around this, i choose a turn to bonus attack bite after action, i can consume and piece of flesh from my bag of holding (yes my character collects body parts after battle) or i get put under magic that stops me. keep it reasonable after consuming flesh i am good for 6 hrs or 10 turns, though once i get to 15% hp i automatically go into a blood rage. i feel this one make a good story itself if my character ever goes to a big town, trying to eat anyone, if a guard searchs my bag to find some hands and arms XD.

Just now catching up. But I've been thinking the same for a few episodes now. My main theory is that shes not Starbane and Ciaska's daughter, shes a manifestation of Ciaska as she regains her power, basically forming the new Ciaska body outside of the coffin. My alternate theory is that shes a clone of Ciaska that Starbane made. Either way, its why Starbane looks so sad when he looks at Valla, all he sees is a younger version of the woman he loved and killed.
