the fact that this ended up being "we spent 14 hours mining" means this was an authentic runescape experience

Tom: "I have a plan!" Guest player who doesn't know Tom: "Okay." High Roller who knows Tom very well indeed: "Oh god."

I was getting upset with how difficult most rolls were and the hard time they were having but then Tom drops one of the funniest things he's ever said 2:31:15

Tom didn't choose violence in this stream, rather he transcended and became chaos incarnate.

Can we have more streams of them squabbling about cabbage over the breakfast table? I could watch it forever. Especially Trott and Tom.

all this bumbling around in the game was the funniest stuff I have watched from highrollers, I think this is up there for me with the cow fight for how funny it is.

I just bought the rule book and played as GM yesterday. It was an amazing experience! The tabletop RPG gives the same vibe and feeling of being in Gielinor as the mmo rpg it self. If you never played a RPG it'll be a perfect place to start, cause the rules are really easy to understand and yet it keep a certein level of complexity for more experienced players. As a long time RuneScape fan (15 years or so) I can say is worth it a try! The book also gives space for you to bring more high level content and adapt a bunch of the videogames content to the tabletop, so you can unlock new magics/summons/prayers as you do in the original games.

Nostalgic. Ngl, I kinda want to play the video game now and spend several hours just leveling up my fishing or some other basic activity

Late to the party, but a rather pleasant surprise! Not a crossover I would have expected to see

This was a great and funny stream, but it did kind of feel like it was really hard to be 'successful' in this like i know luck of the dice but some the targets to get under felt really hard to meet!
@chrism4510 ай бұрын
Yeah it seems excessively difficult. They are very low level though. Maybe in time it would be very easy.

Remeber, each time you fail a check, when you rest you can upgrade it apparently. So, unless you're on a super time crunch you can focus a few things quickly. Like, after a week a Smith can have around 16 skill. Which likely won't ever fail.

I wonder how long campaigns of this would last. It seems really hard at the start but once you get high skills it would be easy.
@chrism4510 ай бұрын
Combat seems impossibly hard. Also they fumbled the mining bit. Since, as Trott pointed out, failing gives you 1 resource and the skill checks are the same for all ores they should've kept mining mithril since it directly sells for 2 coal. Also, maybe Mark could've been nice and reduced the coal requirement by half for this one-shot. To be fair, as frustrating as it was it truly was a runescape experience since most of the time resource gathering and planning is what you do.
@senken1210 ай бұрын
I've not seen the book to know if this is a thing, but all resources should have some minimum requirement to obtain. People with 1 Mining shouldn't be able to help with mining mithril and coal
@senken1210 ай бұрын
And a rule to spend in-game time rather than repeatedly roll for repeatable actions, so you can instead say "You spend the afternoon and you get the amount of coal you need" (for example)
@ARidley98210 ай бұрын
Mithril is actually worth 36 coins in the book, but a rule that was slightly fumbled is that you can only sell resources for half the value they cost - so you can sell 1 mithril for 1 coal not 1 for 2.

They should have got 20 frog legs from 5 frogs. A frog has 4 legs. 2 hind legs and 2 front legs.
