I ran my own game of this today, my players characters were helm the 5th (champion), talor the Rohirrim scout (treasure hunter), Thadius the dwarf who married a hobbit woman (warden) and dwalig the dwarf soldier from erabor/iron hills (champion), my story is about a threat from the ettenmoores threatening the shire and bree, they set out for their destination and they absolutely decimated with critical successes every third roll almost every orc, warg and troll I threw at them in desperation. The dwarves also kept having cooking competitions with each other using the apples they found, and the deer Talor would hunt along the way. It was probably one of the best games I've ever played, and I am so grateful I found this video that motivated me to run a game in this setting.

Watched your BG3 sessions and very much loved it! I wanted to see what you did next, but saw this pop up a few days ago and decided to skip it because I’m not a LoTR fan. But today I decided to give it a shot, thought I’d watch for about 30 minutes or so - and I’m SO GLAD I did! Watched the whole thing in one sitting. Thoroughly entertaining. The standout moment was in the encounter, as the flames had been lit, and Chris decided he needs to step back and deal with the flames first. Mark’s probably thinking, ‘Good move, thinking strategically. There’ll be water in the corner for you to use, should you spot it.’ “iS tHeRe A MirRoR?” 😂

I think I would want to play a Fëanorian elf if I could, born during the siege of Angband and who served Curufin, then Celebrimbor. He would have taken part in the battle of sudden flame and fights afterwards (maybe he was involved in saving Orodreth), the Union of Maedhros, the second kinslaying (this would probably be the most important thing for his backstory), and the fall of Eregion (again, a big moment). He would have forgotten most of his fighting skills and the important history, but not the horrors he endured and especially not the horrors he inflicted on others.

So it's still the one ring book just the mechanics have been changed to 5e to help transitions! The company actually had many amazing realistic mechanics to make it feel as if it is a Tolkien world and I've been working on a LLLOONNNG return to Moria campaign and it's quite a fun mechanic system!
