I'm so glad I spent my childhood in the 50s. These shows take me back when this was a sane normal country. I wish I could go back in time.
@soslothful6 жыл бұрын
Two murders and an attempted murder are, "sane and normal"?
@calbrit546 жыл бұрын
The show reminds me of the general ambience of the times and the exclusive general societal values that were predicated on respect for law and order, family, nation, patriotism and of course anti-Communism. We were a united people back then. Drugs, perversions, and general hooliganism were not tolerated anywhere in society. It was as it should be. Now, our media elites glorify crime, anti-family behavior, and violent riots. Funny, I never knew that SJW types had a thing for 50s shows. Be careful, the old values might wear off on you.
@soslothful6 жыл бұрын
The inane jab of "SJW" is both spurious and adolescent. You have rather less than no knowledge of my personal and social values. Perhaps your view of the 50's is nostalgic. Was that not the very time when black leather jacketed hooligans, heroin, cocaine and the like were entering society, or some parts of society? Drugs, perversions and crime of been part of societies since societies were formed. The idea of some Golden Age is observably false.
@calbrit546 жыл бұрын
Actually, the SJW designation was right on point, and you know that very well. That's why you had to feign offense at the remark. I can smell a leftist a mile away, and frankly you smell like one. The tip-off of course is the Left's unhinged hatred of anything 1950s. And, like all leftists, you make the mistake of imagining that exceptions to the rule violate the generality. Of course the 1950s had its share of baddies. What society doesn't or hasn't? However, the key to determining the health of a society lies in the proportion of functionality, civility, and high trust relative to the opposites. I lived through the period so I know very well how the counter-cultural revolution of the late 60s transformed this country into the generalized freak show it is today.
@soslothful6 жыл бұрын
To what do you attribute such prescient knowledge? Perhaps you are posturing for affect. Cute clichés like "I can smell a Leftist a mile away." or SJW, lack merit and have no place is serious discourse. I hardly, "feigned offense" but merely responded to an inane jab. Your fatuous guess to my political position is spurious and a tad amusing. I have not stated or implied any political position, left or otherwise. Are you generally given to drawing unfounded conclusions from such a meager exchange?
