Sir, this video is too good to understand the basics. Could you please provide information on vertical curve and car following theory. It is a request.

Thanks Madhumita for liking it. Please circulate the link in your groups also. Let every student be part of this channel. I will certainly consider your suggestion for my future videos.

Hello sir this vedios nice, i have some quarrys on How to decide runout and runoff during superlevation at only have curve no transition length
@SatishIITR2 жыл бұрын
Transition Length = Runout Length + Runoff Length If there is no transition length provided, then superelevation will be introduced abruptly and there will be no Runout Length or Runoff Length

Sir, You made this easy to understand. I am having a small doubt. While designing expressway now a days 150 speed is considering. I think there is a impact of air on moving vehicles with a speed of 150kmph. What are the factors we have to consider while designing with a speed of 150kmph.
@SatishIITR2 жыл бұрын
The speed limit on Expressways is 120 km/hr and I agree with your observation that when a car is driven at this speed, there will be air drag on the vehicle. This drag will require more engine power to push the car forward. In railways, this air drag is considered to decide the hauling capacity of the engine, which determines the total weight of the train for a given speed or maximum speed of the train for a given weight of the train. In roadways, this air drag is on individual vehicles and therefore not considered in the design of the highway, but it will certainly have impact on fuel consumption of the vehicle. I hope it answers your query.

Very very nice video sir Plss try to cover IRC SP 23 Vertical Curves as well. How they arrive at the values given in table 7 ( they are for condition of curve length more than sight distance but i observed, sometime due to flatter gradients required curve length is less but required sight distance is more)
@abhijeetpangavhane64442 жыл бұрын
Sorry not table 7 it's table 6. How they got value of 8.4 for 40kmph speed???

Thanks Mr. Abhijeet. Will work on vertical curves soon. Currently working on Transition curves

Why curves do not require superelevation at high design speed? Is it true ? If it is true what is the reason?
@SatishIITR Жыл бұрын
No, it is not correct. Super elevation is not needed for very flat curves.
