The acting was top notch here, every single episode had superb acting lines. The writers on this show were simply outclassing everything out there at that time. It was hard to sell these stories at that time of the shows run, but the acting by Landon and the directing he did and also the fantastic casting makes this show timeless.

This episode is ingrained in my brain from when it first came out many years ago. It reminds me a little bit like the movie somewhere in Time with Christopher Reeve. Very hard to watch when he stops the car at the end and gets out and looks back and thinks everything is going to be okay. There is another episode later on in the series where Jonathan appears in Jane's hospital room right as she's dying that too is a two-part series and it's very very good I'm a man and I just love these kind of shows anything that draws out emotion in me.

Yea i was 8 to 12 when this show first aired on TV, and i remember my parents always had it on and that beginning with the clouds and Jonathan walking was burned into my memory and i remember some eoisodes but now im 47 and this show is hard to explain how good it is, the writing, the acting, its amazing. I love Little house too but for me this Michaels masterpiece, my favorites are Alone with Arnie and his cat and Wally with Dick Van Dyke, i just tear up immediately. And to think Victor and Michael died so close and not long after the show is heartbreaking

This show is a must-see. I've already watched more than 10 times. Great story, acting and touching music made this show wonderful. The composer is a genius! He incorporated Debussy's Claire de Lune main theme in many beautiful scenes. Also it was very funny when Jonathan appeared as a drummer in front of his daughter and his son-in-law. I think all the women who watched this show might have cried at the last beautiful ending scene. Such an amazing show to watch!

@@over50andfantabulous59 I looked up the episode and discovered it was a two parter. Finished watching them both. As random as the story was overall because it didn't deal with much of the family stuff, the only saving grace really was when it turned out the woman John was mingling with to bring back his happiness was his own wife in angelic form. I do wish we got to see the daughter and her family again especially when Jane died early on in the first part which I thought was a missed opportunity.
