Those brick phones in particular you could get them for a few hundred bucks by the turn of decade and service plans were not too bad, but you only got very minimal minutes included (maybe 30 minutes) and per minute charges after that were about 50 cents.

Economic class has more to do with it than racism. Normally, the higher the income, the higher the class of people. Although it is not a hard fast rule. The first black family moved in next door 25 plus years ago (best neighbors ever). Out of the 400 homes in the neighborhood, 20% are now black/minority. Most all are college educated, 100k to 250k income. Home value has doubled in 10 years.

Great episode, but I wonder what might happen to Bill/Guillermo now. Those other council members probably didn't magically change their point-of view just because he "came out." He'll obviously stay in the neighbourhood, and probably be a useful advocate for the family buying the house and other future minority residents, but is he still a member of the association? And there are any number of ways the homeowners association could make life hard on these residents, just by manipulating the rules. Jonathon and Mark's assignment has obviously ended successfully again, but they didn't solve the larger problem at all, I don't think. I hate to be negative, but this ending left a big gaping hole.

For a start. I know that probably counts as "balancing the scale" in your books, but making the association more representative is something that is definitely needed anyway.
