I drive on Grand parkway 290 to I10 every day and it’s ok. Sometimes people are going 30mph UNDER the speed limit and they’re the ones who will possibly cause an accident.

Texas needs to get the habitual offenders off the roads. Revoke their licenses, impound those uninsured, unregistered vehicles. Driving while suspended or revoked, jail time. Driving is a privilege, not a right.

@@godislove5781 Doesn't matter. Merge Right in 1000 ft. Lane Narrows. Lane Closed ahead. All those signs posted by the 1 and 3 lanes allows everyone on the road to know that the road is changing. I about ate it doing 55 when the SUV driven by Max Compensate lane changed from 1 to 2 w/o signalling just in time for him to dodge the a lane closure barrier. That left me locking them up and drifting like a japanese teenager to not eat the barricade. Signage sux. You can't see what is in front of you until it is right in front of you. Throwing up barricades is fast and cheap, but doesn't really protect drivers.

All that used to be covered in the driver’s test. More signs aren’t the answer. More enforcement, more education, especially for foreigners. I went to renew my license and I had to have a birth certificate and a passport, along with proof of liability insurance and a social security number. There were people in line that couldn’t speak English, much less have the proper documents. It wasn’t easy for me and i have lived here my entire life. Yes, and put down the cell phone. I had a young girl enter an on ramp and veer across three lanes to get in the passing lane so she could safely continue texting. She was driving 55 in a 75 while texting in the passing lane. I saw a young lady driving I-10 at 4:30 in the morning with her dome light on and reading a paperback. Operating a vehicle properly should occupy your time and attention while on the road. It’s a grave responsibility

KHOU, y'all need to include maps with these kinds of stories. Provide a map that highlights the area being discussed. Be sure to leave it on the screen long enough for viewers to get their bearings. This would go a long way toward advancing your coverage.

@ If you really follow the money a lot of it goes into waste or to line their own pockets with bonuses etc. what I am saying is that how can you have qualified people to make poor decisions when the common folk understands that we are the fourth largest city in the United States so why make a 2 lane Expressway and charge tolls. They just came out with a report stating that Harris county owns half of the toll roads and they’re not using that money for better infrastructure so tell me where that money is going if you can clearly see that our freeways have major potholes

Funny I took 99 in Cleveland today The speed limit was 70. They might need to lower it. Also I tried to get on it and almost crashed because a car did not let me merge.

They don’t have to move over. They have the right of way. If you’re entering the freeway it’s your job to do so safely so either speed up or slow down to be able to merge.

@@Dirkadew When I was growing up there were signs on the ramp that said that. Merge with safety follow the law. The merging driver is ALWAYS at fault on the ramp. Turns out, people don't look into their blind spots as often as they should.

This doesn’t address the real problem. The population growth and drivers on 99 has increased and 2 lanes is no longer adequate. 99 should be 4 lanes on each side. In certain areas at night, it’s pitch dark. Lighting is needed. Lastly, slow drivers and left campers cause problems.
