It was defs someone who knew her and was annoyed with her. A one-off murder, not a serial killer. I'm thinking it's the ex-partner so he could get full custody of the daughter.

Or the friend who had a boyfriend who had hit on her. Risk is she had heard about it but in a reverse way of what happened from the bf, that it was Belinda who had made a move on him. Not sure if it was the same woman who offered to stay with the daughter so she wouldn't have to stay with the dad. I thatis also a strange thing to offer when at the time there seemed to be an amicable separation.

Possibly, but actually you'd be surprised just how many people, even today, are totally clueless when it comes to crime scenes. Remember, her body hadn't been found yet, murder wouldn't have crossed their minds. They'd be thinking she went for an early morning walk, fell and sprain her ankle, someone will find her.

@@Gloria-ro4vn She went missing from 'home' h o m e = crime scene or last place seen known to be president. so only place to find clues. YOU may be surprised at how many are clueless & with those giving them ridiculous excuses as you have, then no wonder murderers get away with crimes. Esconsing themselves into crime scenes & spreading their DNA so it's bound to be there. Anyone doing that should have been arrested as a major suspect.

Slammed the phone down left seething. The child knew to call him first... was his number left handy?.... Body removed away from child.... Never called to report missing for over 6 hours. he didn't want to sell up & share & pay child maintenance. So many motives including immediate anger on board. Nobody else had any of those motives or reason to remove her from the house.

terrible for the young ladies daughter and family to go through, the ex hubby why did he wait until 2pm to inform the police and when did he inform the young ladies mother and brother ???? also the item on the dirt road was for someone to find the young lady thats why it was placed there, also no 4 and 5 the problem i have here is this, to place the young woman where she was found it either took a very strong man to take her down that hill into the ditch or it took 2 people to do it, I wouldnt use a lie detector test on all 3 of them id use an eye test they have now they have them in the uk so am pretty sure if australian police asked am sure they would get one and this will tell the police who done this drastic thing on an innocent young lady and robbed her daughter of a mother, a grandmother of a daughter, a brother of his sister, I hope this is solved for the peace it will bring to the poor young ladies family and friends

When we mention something that happened years ago, we always use past tense like her brother did there. I reacted to the same piece of the story, though: They were cleaning a likely crime scene "because they didn't want people to think she didn't keep a clean house"...!?! That's a really bizarre thing to do, and an equally bizarre explanation for why they did it. That guy had made a pass at her on a couple of occasions, and it sounded like she had rejected him quite bluntly. Based on the information in this program, this guy is BY FAR the most suspicious to me! If 4 and 5 have broken up since, I'd interview her again.

I watched all of this from 01.20 to 03.00 CET Thursday 29/12/2022. I watched it again, recording a transcript and making more notes/deconstruction from 18.15 to 20.15 CET Thursday 29/12/2022. This adds to my very extensive file on the case compiled since 17/8/1999. Prayers for Belinda. P.S. Peter Jackson's 2009 movie based on Alice Sebold's 2002 book "The Lovely Bones" is an interesting film because it refers to the relationship between a cold case murder victim in heaven and the living and the importance of truth and justice in the grand scheme of things. It's a very metaphysical movie.

Thinking the same, aside of the ex maybe. I think it's off to offer up to look after the daughter as well so she wouldn't to stay with the dad when the separation was amicable. I wonder if the guy who hade made some move on her had told his gf, who was there at the time, a reverse story, suggesting that Belinda had made a move on him. As I understood it they had rented the hose previously so I guess the would be familiar with the layout and such. I think it was totally unneccesary for the policeofficer to excuse the cleanup with "normal behaviour". It's like in the Springfield three where police have recieved a lot of criticism for "not doing enough", probably by the same gang of people who went there and started to deep clean when they saw the house was so messy and strange things they threw away, like a brokennpatio light by the entrance, which may have had traces if someone broke it just to have them come to open the door to switch the bulb. Going there to see whether she is really missing and to make sure she isn't laying injured somewhere is not strange but starting a masdive clean at such time, now matter how messy it is is somewhat beyond plain ignorance.

Agree. I would be suspicious of the other girlfriends knew and if and how the gf of the guy was presented to it. If Belinda rejected him he could as well have said to his gf the same story but in reverse, that Belinda had made a move on him. It's a bit like Springfield three where a bunch of people arrived to "wonder what to do" and starying deep cleans. I don't think there is a reason for police to wrap silkpaper around what problems that cause. In the "Springfield three" the police have unjustly recieved criticism for not coming to any conclusion, probably by the very by the same "*frienly* cleaning people who remembered towing aaway" strange things they found" like a broken patio light by the entrance etc. There was a case recently in USA where a girl was murdered by "friends" who had bought into a fantasy that she had been with someone of their boyfriend.

@@chryseluna1648 I think that That Chapter was the channel where he specifically pointed out the criticism about the policework being very unjust since the friends who had been there had cleaned up so very well. I suppose police in that case also being a bit sensitive about criticizing the clean up. Ok, if you're an amish never having seen even an episode of a crime series or read a newspaper of a crimecase, a grown up would know some about policework and how they proceed. But, Belindas friends were likely not amish if they were there for a glass of wine.

1999- Near Ballarat Australia- I came across this case only today on Google on 10/12/2022- While the daughter slept her mom Belinda Williams was murdered sixteen years passed without a killer caught. Belinda was dating a man named David and Belinda had a daughter by David. The two separated and David had access to their six year old daughter. In 1999 the daughter couldn’t find her mother Belinda so she rang her father David. Eleven days later a bushwalkers found Belinda’s body and informed police. Belinda had been strangled to death. At the time Belinda was murdered she had left David and had been seeing a man named Norman. It’s now 23 years since her murder.

There can be a suppression order in place and the name can be floating around the internet. The country I live in for example suppresses alleged perpetrators last names. You will see only that Bob B. was arrested etc. If the story is widely publicized you see sources outside the country full on out the names because they arent held to the same legal obligations. They had 1 child, and her families full names are known. It wouldnt be that hard for an armchair detective to find her name and publish it for all to see.
