History of the past for my family it was part of our own history . My Dad was a motorman to Croxley depot when the bakerloo ran a full service . My brother and I were guards at Croxley bakerloo and later drivers joined by my younger brother

I remember when Watford had two Tube lines running into it, the Met and the Bakerloo. Happy days. Great video. 👍

In my view connection between Watford, in which many people did, and do aso nowadays, work in London, and the inner London should have been maintained by Underground and not by Overground. Bakerloo line has got many stations within central London

I play Train Sim World 2: London Underground Bakerloo Line From Elephant & Castle To Harrow & Wealdstone and back again with TfL 1972 MkII Tube Stock on my PlayStation 4 Pro so it was really fascinating to see an old video from that route and how it has developed in all those years so many thanks from Copenhagen, Denmark

North of Queen's Park, the BR stock was probably preferred anyway. The class 501 stock was very comfortable, at least the trailer cars were. The power cars were rough, though. The 313 stock was very much a change for the worse.

16:46 This signage must be maintained. At certain stations like Ealing Common I realise this type of signage is ruined by modern signage. It also conceptually seems similar to some Elizabeth Line signage in the core section, all the information being in one place together.

The Bakerloo line always seems to be last to get new stock. The current 72 stock is in need of an upgrade soon, 40 plus year old trains!

I can imagine using 1995 tube stock trains - like the never confirmed 1956 stock (at least it looked like) over 30 years ago.

The 72mk2s and the few ex Northern line mk1 units are getting life extension works done on them to keep them serving longer. Wow didnt know the mk2s served the Northern line for a bit b4 the Jubilee line when it was new on the scene in the 70s. The Bakerloo and Piccadilly line wont get upgraded till later on so TfL have to keep the 72 and 73 stock in good running condition till then.

Yes, history repeating itself in my lifetime...the Bakerloo having the oldest stock on the system until 1985 with the 1938 Stock (although 5 sets did return to the Northern for peak hour work shortly after this until 1988) and again with the 1972 Mk 2 Stock, which is still the case today.

Someone proposes it like every year and it gets declined every time... I think Deutsche Bahn and Network Rail have too big slice from owning Watford DC that they can't let it go that easily... First one gets tonns of green by running services from Euston to Watford, and second one by ripping off LUL for it using NR infrastructure on Bakerloo line services (and NR wins even more cause Bakerloo line trains can't even leave the depot without going on NR territory...)

Just like to know if the trains went from Elephant to either the Watford branch or Stanmore. Or did you have to change at Baker Street? Thanks...
@bwhugul3 ай бұрын
They did go to both Watford branch and Stanmore, and the core between Baker Street and Elephant couldn't cope with the rising demand from two branches. That's why the Fleet Line (today's Jubilee Line) was proposed, to take over the Stanmore branch and give it dedicated tunnels from Baker Street to Charing Cross.

Do you know exactly when because the 1967 tube stock on the Victoria line was first to be done and the first 2 units were done in June 1990 but I never found out when and also the C stock was being refurbished around the same time and nobody knows exactly when the first refurbished C stock entered service.
@Richardsrailway6 жыл бұрын
MrGriser . Brian Hardy confirmed 1992 .
@ruairievans4 жыл бұрын
The 1967 trains would have been refurbished during the very early 1990s and the C stock and the 1972 stock were refurbished around the early to mid 1990s.
