Hike the Hollywood Sign (From a Pro Guide)

I have lived in LA for over 30 years now and I've done various hikes along the way but never bothered to do the Hollywood Sign. I'm older now and have a lung condition that prevents me from doing anything too strenuous which is a total bummer. I work with a lot of out of towners who ask me about the "hike to the Hollywood sign" and I always feel lacking because I have never done it. This video is exactly what I need to share with those looking to do this hike. Editing is spot on as it highlights the trail and the various sections very well. This is the best video of the hike that I have seen. It makes me want to try it even though I don't think I could make it all the way. I also like sharing your hiking guy website as it is very useful with all the maps. Thank you so much for doing this!!

Thank you so much for this video!! I was not planning on hiking to the Hollywood sign because I didn't know you could. I was looking for climbing the famous step in L.A. BUT after watching this video I am going to do both! This is going to be a great adventure because I love nature and I love hiking!!!

This was the perfect guide! Your video was clear and memorable. We found the car park no problem, photographed the map (your great tip!), and easily followed the route you described. Did the hike this morning, waited till sunrise to arrive at the park. It had been open since at least 5:30am according to locals who hike it frequently. Aside from that, really excellent source of information. Appreciate you for it!

Thank you! Your very concise instructions provided for an excellent experience. The use of hiking poles made the ascent (and descent) much more controlled, especially with a backpack full of water, which I purchased and froze the day before the hike. Another great video Hiking Guy! I just recently started wearing Danner 2650 Campo shoes after wearing Altra Lone Peak 6's. You should give em a try, pretty comfortable and versatile, though they are an 8mm shoe.
