Hike & wild camp didn’t turn out as I expected - Scottish hills won’t let me get to them easily!

I set off to wild camp on a mountain with my new Nordisk tent.
After walking 5 or 6 km along a forest road I hit an impasse!
The forest didn’t want to let me through.
In the Galloway Hills, it’s not like the Lake District, there are mostly no paths and no people.
So when you set off to go somewhere you have never been before and you know there is no set route to get there, then you know you are off on a proper adventure!!
It all turned out well in the end….I’m still alive…although a good chunk of the video has a strong essence of ‘found footage’ haha.
It wasn’t the adventure I wanted, but it was definitely one I needed.
The more often you put yourself into unknown and unpredictable circumstances and situations the greater your ability to adapt (I hope!!!).

You're right. It's good to be out exploring and sometimes things work out to plan and sometimes they don't. Just have to make sure to have a backup plan. Beautiful views out there! Really nice hike, Annie😁

The weather looks great for your adventure it is a stunning place to spend time in no wonder you get so much from it. Just being there whether you get to the summit of the hill or not makes it worthwhile. Another great video thanks for sharing it once again and keep making those films 👍

Great wee video 👍 first thing I pack going to Loch Doon or Arran is safety glasses for the bushwhacking. Never feel it’s a failure or be down heartened to turn back I always feel it’s Mother Nature way of looking after me or she is spending time repairing or protecting the wildlife in the area I wanted to visit. Such a lovely part of Scotland can’t believe it took me into my 40s to start exploring it.

No fails there Annie,you summed it up perfectly at the end of your video. Stunning scenery. I really should explore Galloway more. Little tip for the midges (everyone has one...yawn.😅) Slightly water down some TCP antiseptic lotion and apply with a spray bottle. You smell like a walking hospital ward,but you soon dont notice it. Hehehehe i finaly got to watch this ..... GSI equipment is highly underestimated not alot of people use it they do desent stuff ..... i like the fact that you got a tent from my country as a tribute to me hahahahahaha 🤣😂🤣🤪the slow mo bit sounds like you have a lion in the background
