I don’t know what it is about waterfalls, but I love them so much! These trails are so beautiful & the history is really cool.

looks like you timed your waterfall visit perfectly.... I made that hike once in the summer time which was a mistake... it was just a trickle instead of a waterfall.... was pretty disappointed... will definitely do a winter hike next time.... thanks

Like the video and hate to ask but is that the same area where Rachanda Pickle was missing?
@HikeOregon2 жыл бұрын
No. I looked up her story and it looks like that happened near Santiam Junction. I guess it’s not too far up the road but I wouldn’t call it the same area.

Loved the history as much as the beautiful scenery... Thanks for sharing... your brothers hiccups were hilarious... May 4,5,6 I'll be camping near Lake Hemet Ca. We (ECV) will erect a historical monument to the DE Anza Trail at the Hamilton Museum in Anza. I'll post after the trip.

People forget before we had a highway system Oregon had wagon roads and trails for people and livestock to move around. I have enjoyed finding a few of these on our travels. My great grand father was a teamster and drove wagons on these roads. I use paper maps to find old wagon roads, military roads and early trails. Have you ever considered putting GPS co-ordinates for your trail heads? So many people travel today following their GPS units. I have found that the combination of GPS and paper maps make travel go smoother. I now get lost less frequently.
