Try cleaning the prongs better, use a needle to scrape in between them, I had like one tiny piece of lint in between one of the metal prongs and now it works fine lol

Dude i haven’t used an actual plug charger in 6 months because of the charging problem and I never once thought to clean out the lint, I finally did and that shit was clogged with lint and now it works again. I was about to pay someone to replace it, you just saved me money 🙏🏼

I tried this after cleaning the port many times and it definitely didn’t work. I tried something after that did. One thing I don’t like about the iPhone is the pins in the charging port and the charging cable. They seem to tarnish easy. What worked for me is buy some contact cleaner, absolutely make sure the phone is off first. I sprayed contact cleaner in the port and then I use the bobby pin to scrape the pins free of tarnish. Most people like myself use a toothpick or a floss pic, and that’s great for lint but I don’t think it’s good for scraping off tarnish from the pins. I was having a lot of trouble with this phone and I finally figured it out. Just thought I’d put that out there for other people if they were as frustrated as I was. I like your tip though It was the only thing that was addressing the problem other than getting the lint out of the phone. If you do this with the phone on it’s probably a sure way to damage the phone. I would make sure it’s totally dry before turning back on. Fortunately contact cleaner drys fast and is meant for stuff like this. Good luck, I feel your pain!

Hi! just wanted to say thank you! I've been battling my Iphone 7 for the past year because of this haha! I tried cleaning the lint out with a push pin and a air spray can, which worked a couple times, but eventually my charging port was just too loose and I had been resorting to propping my phone up before bed every night ( don't even get me started on trying to charge the thing in my car ). This morning, I woke up to my phone dead, and not responding to my charging cable at all. I spent the morning researching repair costs ( looks like it's at least $100 to have someone replace the part which for an Iphone 7 that I've owned for like 5 years seemed not worth it lol ) I just tried the tape method using duct tape and a new charging cable and BAM completely fixed the issue! No more propping my phone up to charge only to realize an hour later it stopped charging. Thank you again, you've saved me time, money, and a headache!

I tried cleaning with a paper clip and it didn't work, but then a used a needle and also, inspired by your tape method, I used the paper clip to put some tape in there, removing a lot of dirty every time a took it out. The result was amazing, I had forgotten that the charger was supposed to click when plugged. Now it works like the first day, like there was nothing wrong it, thank you. 🙏🏽

@@dallasivory Yes it definitely works. The only thing I’d say is after a couple of weeks the tape may loosen up meaning u will need to clean out the port and reapply new tape. It can be a bit fiddly but it is the perfect temporary solution and works like a charm.

Trust me. Its not loose. You just need to clean the port. Its just full of accumulated dusts and micro debris inside the port that the charger cannot be inserted deeper. Thats why you get the feeling of the chrger not snapping or not able to lock. Once you get rid of the dusts it will snap/lock back again like brand new. Search for “how to clean lightning port” here in youtube. Be careful not to accidentally remove the pins that connects to charger.

lol tried the fix ending up breaking my charging cable into my iPhone from wiggling it around so much. Finally was able to pull it out. Frustrated I sprayed isopropanol into the charging port then used compressed air to flush it out. Works great now lol thank for the video

Thanks very much for posting, looks like you have helped a lot of people over the years. This worked for me with one exception. For some reason the electrical tape wouldn't work, so I had some sports tape, that white canvas-like tape, and thought what the heck. I cut it to the same specs, and it worked perfectly. I ordered a wireless charger but this will help for now. At least my phone won't go dead waiting for the wireless and this will help in the car. Thanks again!

This is not the latest Apple iPad, but it is faster than I thought. It has a great screen and it holds a charge pretty well kzbin.infoUgkxhcEDB3r-OJ3_X5hQzr7k1ZofTQy1ao_U . I was concerned that it would not be powerful enough because I have several older iPads that are slow and cannot update to the latest software. But this 10th Gen has the speed and power. I do not use it for video editing, so having an M2 processor is not necessary for me. This iPad model has an A14 processor. So far so good. Glad I bought it. It helps having a larger screen compared to my Apple phone.

only cleaning the port restored its functionality, but this time I’ve used a pair of 3.5 glasses to see better and cleaned it carefully because I’ve cleaned the port before and didn’t work. there was dirt in the corners I've ben using the wireless charging for the last several months and even bought one for my car, which is very convenient but you still need the port. I know this video is old but I just found it because I was having charging issues with my iPhone X. All I ended up needing to do was clean out the charging port with the paper clip and it’s charging consistently again. No more problems. THANK YOU!! @@PetesMerrin hi. sorry never had an issues with my iphones overheating. i seen they get too hot out in the sun, and it actually tells you to cool it off. it wont work. but you wont get any fire from doing this. using electrical tape so its safe in that sense. and make sure phone is off if you plan the clean the inside of the port out with a metal prong. use a wooden toothpick instead for example to get the lint out etc. thanks
