Well, here I am in the woods this morning, hiking with your dog. I'm impressed that Roxy was really happy to see us today, and perhaps even more impressed that you quoted my very favorite song! Had no idea you were a Dead Head too! 💖💀🔊

Thanks for taking Roxy.... she’s been seriously depressed. I just disappeared! Poor girl. You are doing a great thing for her. Not surprised at all that you caught that line!!

I love watching your vlogs. I'm a backpacker and I enjoy hikes like the John Muir Trail (starting it July 11th) but I could never drop out of the world and do what you all are doing. I do love living the PCT experience thru you guys though! Keep up the great and hard work. So far you are making it look easy - wow! I'm looking forward to your next adventures on the trail......

And….a kazoo for the win ! Wondering how long it will take your hiking companions to confiscate that yellow pestiferous device. Or, better yet, give one to everyone for a true cacophony that over time, becomes a melody. No sweeter sound along the PCT …. The hiking kazoodlers….. Blessings along your journey!

Loving your videos and very much enjoyed the Mozart Requiem snippet. You crack me up!! Also a teacher, living in NorCal, moving to WA this summer. Who knows? Maybe we'll get to give some trail magic up north this summer. OMG the WIND down there. Once endured an overnight field trip with a class out there. Oh, the Sierras are coming!!!!! Keep it up!!

I first read about the PCT in a 1973 National Geographic magazine my parents got. I was blown away. I don't think the young man who wrote the article was the first to hike it. And the trail is surprisingly old.

I was prepared to do the PCT in 2008, but health issues said no. But I've been following hikers for years, since before KZbin. These images are so familiar.

Here's a little trivia that I don't see talked about much: Most know the highest point of the PCT, but what's the lowest?
@jasonedlund72823 жыл бұрын
What a tough question on first pct thru hiker! I did research on this exact question few years ago as you dig into more and more so many disputes about who really did it first! Yes there is an answer people do agree with but no one is 100% first unless you go back to the 50s before pct. technically he really was first! Not going to gives names so others may do there own research and make there own conclusions

Curious: No concern about the pandemic? I thought Fauci suggested mask wearing is still prudent due to variants (especially indoors). Just wondering.
@hrconthepct27243 жыл бұрын
We wear masks in every store or place of business we have been in. Honestly I’m not too concerned about COVID. Hiking in the wilderness seems like a great thing to do during a pandemic. Even when we meet other hikers it’s almost always open air. I’m vaccinated and so is QC and surprisingly that is true of almost everyone on trail! Those not vaccinated are getting off trail to get it done at the earliest opportunity.
