Great view down the valley and love the idea of a short trip to Yosemite in the off season. Thanks for sharing.

Oh, how perfect. We really are spoiled being so close to everything. Your happiness on this trip is just illuminated. I love it! Gives me the feels as if I were out there. Yosemite never gets old is facts. When we were hiking out of Glen Aulin a few months back, it was so hard leaving. I have to say thank you again for the route you took from the Eastern side over Donahue into Tuolomne. That was the first 2 day trip I took my brother on, and he was so amazed. There's really nothing as good at getting out there.

Wow, make me want to try this. I have not done any backpacking in Yosemite and I plan too
Great video, Scott. Thank you. I spent five nights in Yosemite in mid last October as part of a hiking trip that covered all nine National Parks in California. The weather was almost perfect, but there was little water in the waterfalls and wildfires further south in Kings Canyon. Cheers.

Sounds amazing! Did you wild camp in Yosemite?
@RubiHammer10 күн бұрын
@@Sheety33 No wild camping in Yosemite this time. I stuck to day hikes (including a couple of 20+ mile ones), moving between the different districts of the park. I alternated between camping outside the park in my full-size SUV and spending a couple of nights in Mariposa. I posted my attempt improving on my best time on the Four Miles Trail: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gp_cdZ2rrLGbqcU And drone shots from the road trip between the parks: kzbin.info/www/bejne/o3nTeGyPpah-bJI Will take me some time to edit and upload the other videos from this trip. Cheers.

Such a peaceful video, thank you for showing us this spot! I have a question, did you park at Tunnel View, then? How do rangers know that you're a backpacker / don't ticket you for parking overnight? Thanks!

Nice Video Scott. You timed that hike perfectly! One question....You carry trekking poles, but I never saw you use them, except to point at scenery! Why? Most hikers I see using them, don't use them correctly, and therefore don't obtain any of the benefits, but at least they try! 😊 Using them correctly will: Make you more efficient while ascending and descending, regardless of age or ability. Make you safer, especially in technical terrain. Relieve pressure on your joints, especially when descending. Burn more calories (if that's important to you, as it is for me!). Using them correctly involves proper pole and strap adjustment, and learning 3 modes that aren't difficult, but require some practice to achieve muscle memory, making efficient use second nature. I didn't think I needed them. Was I ever wrong! Anyway, If you (or anyone reading this) happen to be in the SF Bay Area, contact me and I'll show you how to use them. I guarantee, you'll be glad you did!
@Sheety335 күн бұрын
Thank you! I actually use them all the time, just not when filming as I don’t care for the sound they make on film :) Trekking poles are definitely a game changer!
@carlwilliams69775 күн бұрын
@Sheety33 Well, I would suggest not carrying them when you're filming then , as it's a bad example. In addition to not using them correctly, I commonly see people carrying them (not using them), or having them stowed on their backpacks, where they're useless. Some seem to have the misconception that they're only useful while descending, and even then, most fail to use them to full effect! If you're an "influencer", don't be a bad one! : )

How was the snow camp? Bet it was amazing! Not sure how much the pack weighed but would estimate maybe 40 lbs.

what are the best ways to learn how to cook for camping? do i find a class online? or do local shops/stores have services they can show me? im a student at theu university of wyoming and im not sure if they have anything on campus offered in the spring semesters

It's not a bad idea, especially if it's remote (as this was in late Fall) and you're solo. I'd leave reference to it on my dash as well. If you break a leg, you'll be glad you did!
