River has gotten so big! He'll be hauling a backpack in no time. Beautiful trail, loved all the gushing water.

Great video! Love that trail. Those plants were bear clover that you were asking about. They're all over that trail. That baby is gonna grow up to be a sherpa 😂😂

Thank you! Not called Mountain Misery?
@theyosemiteguyd Жыл бұрын
@Sheety33 I just looked it up and I guess it goes by both names. I've always just known it as bear clover. I learn something new everyday. 😀 Mountain misery sounds so dark for such a beautiful fragrant plant.

I believe that the plant with the fern type leaves and strong smell is Mountain Misery. I camped in a forest once with it covering the ground. It was not in bloom but the woods smelled amazing to me. I guessed the smell was coming from it as the only other plant was Ponderosa and they don't smell like that. Since I didn't know what it was, I didn't touch it. Later, I asked some locals about it and they told me what it was. When I asked if it got its name because it caused allergic reactions like poison oak, they said no, that it got its name for its smell as it's offensive to some. I thought it smelled great! Thanks for the video. Good to see you all back on the trail.

Hey there- This is a long shot but were you hiking in this area on 7/2/2023? My cousin (Hayden Klemenok) is a missing person in Yosemite and he slipped, falling into the Chilnualna Creek then got carried away with the strong current. His accident happened on 7/2/2023.
