it'd be nice if there was someone behind the camera to take it and just follow him and stop every now and then XD

I've met 5 Faroese and they were all very generous people. Once in Iceland, a guy brought out some local beer (it was the summer solstice) for our group of international travelers, so I brought out the rye whiskey. None of us slept in the rooms we had booked that night, but we all woke up "happy".

Great video as always! As a local, I'd recommend not to hike in the fog, mostly because you won't see anything and it can be very dangerous if you can't see where you're going up there.

Yup, I pretty much agree. If I didn't have a GPS I wouldn't dare attempt it.

sorry to jump in with a few questions, we are planning on doing this hike as well. is the signal good up there? which gps do you use? also is the trail mark of footsteps clear to follow? really appreciate your amazing videos and looking forward to your reply! @@AllanSu

Hello. Just wanted to leave a comment of appreciation for your videos. Unlike most other travel videos I stumble upon, everything is very tastefully done, with well chosen and inoffensive music, great shots, loads of info, very well edited, and perhaps most importantly, the host doesn't try to make themselves the star of the show. I like your niche. Keep up the great work

没去过,所以看您的youtube.真美。我没勇气去。一个人,好怕怕。要照顾乐龄人士,根本不能去外面久久。 您一个人拍视频,包山包海,幸苦了。 1,396 km² faroe island size. 719 km² my country Wow, 2 times bigger 😅 The population in faroe is 53,090. But ours is 110 times more people. So cram. Cost of living in faroe is ex. Double. I had checked😂

I went up Snubburnar (the main peak) and Mýlingur yesterday - in great weather. I'm an experienced hiker, and it was hard work, but fine. I'd consider it to be a dangerous hike in the misty weather of Allan's first time up Mýlingur: there are sudden sheer drops (of hundreds of metres) and the steep grass would be slippery. Without the reward of the views, I'd not recommend anyone try.

Great video, Allan. How long did it take you? I've seen 3 hours (6 total), but I also saw Mads video and he said it took them 9 hours including their shooting.

6 hours is pretty spot if you only do the hiking part. It toke me around 8 hours with all the footage gathering.

Allan, great vid... what pants are you using? and do you have a base layer beneath them?
@AllanSu5 ай бұрын
These were the Patagonia Terrebonne Joggers. I don't necessarily recommend them for serious hiking. The material is a bit thin and they ripped when I was doing a hike in the Dolomites. I do believe I was wearing a base layer underneath but nothing fancy.
@Fduthoy5 ай бұрын
@@AllanSu thanks for the reply man.... Im going to Faroe Islands in a month, and still having "difficulty" to decide what base layer buy for the trip. But by the forecast and the nature of the location, I think i will go for winter base layers, but for weather proof pants I still have my doubts. I already bought the nano puff and 3L Rain JAcket from Patagonia, and was thinking on the pants from the same brand,, but now I know i need to look deeper, thanks man!

I would like to know what you do during the editing for your talking head audio(if anything). It sounds good, and I would like to improve on mine. Thanks.
@AllanSu Жыл бұрын
Love the interest brother. But that would go way into nerdy territory haha. But a good quality mic goes a long way like something from Shure or Earthworks Audio. Then some minor EQ, noise reduction, gaiting, and compression.
@CaryMercer Жыл бұрын
@@AllanSu You lost me at minor. 😆 Appreciate the response. I'll watch some videos on YT and look to educate myself more on the topic.

How difficult would you say it is on a scale of 1-10 and how dangerous 1-10?
@AllanSu2 жыл бұрын
In fair weather, I would say 4/10 as long as you stick to the ridgeline. If you decide to go down the last section to Mylingur then the difficulty level increases. It's a very steep and technical descent with no "real path" to follow.
@SafetyisFirst2 жыл бұрын
@@AllanSu awesome video Thank You!
@SafetyisFirst2 жыл бұрын
@@AllanSu one other question what would you rate the difficulty 1-10 in finding your way since it’s unmarked and you have to guesstimate to switch to an unmarked path halfway to Saksun?
