Awesome video. I've been blessed to experience all the areas you filmed (including half dome summit, twice), and yet its still awe inspiring to find videos like yours that acknowledge the majesty of Yosemite in such a wonderful, understated manner. As one other comment noted, the actual 'diving board' is down below the summit of half dome, and its most famously known as the location of the iconic photo of Half Dome by Ansel Adams, called the "Monolith, the Face of Half Dome". btw, I've also had a bear encounter at Yosemite, camping in the valley at Upper Pines, a bear wandered through the camp at 3am, but quickly chased away by rangers (which was amazing given the middle of the night time).

16:57 That's actually not the diving board but instead is the "visor." The diving board is lower on half dome and requires a different approach that does not take you to the top via the cables. Part of the way there is via the "snake dike" or "snake bite" trail. Cool video!

Haha, I wasn't totally convinced ... right before filming that bit I recall asking the guys if it definitely was the 'Diving Board' - I hadn't heard of it before, but that's what everyone was calling it ... I remember saying "are you 100% sure that's the right name because I'm just about to film a piece calling it the diving board" - and they said yes, so I guess we all stand corrected!
