Thanks for the virtual hike up "my" mountain. I took my degree at Penn State in the early 70's, and I'd hike the 4 miles from my dorm and I camped many nights on top in all weather. Many times I was the only person up there. No signs and barely any trails then. Between Nitanny and Little Flat above Boalsburg there used to be a very good spring, and that's where I'd pitch my tent, and listen to the farmers working in the valley as the sun set. It's amazing how clearly one can hear things miles away when it's 'woods quiet'. Individual snowflakes can be heard hitting the earth; I know people don't believe it but it's true.

Gosh that was great. I loved all the overlooks may not have been big but were still lovely. Autumn colours sure are beautiful I love the crunch of the leaves. Thanks so much for taking me along. Please stay safe and take care

Love the lizard maps! So many hidden gems! You just never know what is going to be around the "lizard location!" One of our recent trips was VERY rewarding by following the lizard!

We hiked up there last fall, it’s a nice hike. It was extremely crowded though when we were there. We ate lunch at station 4 as well.

Great hike Cliff. This area was my stomping grounds in the early/mid 90s as my exgirlfriend lived nearby. Beautiful area. 👊👍

It's a gorgeous area! It did look like a very zen like walk. Thanks! The state should pay you for recreation and tourist advertising. Station 3 is amazing, but the golden foliage is spectacular and my favorite part of the hike.

Not a state park, the land is bought and maintained by volunteers, thus the buy a square inch for $150.

Glad you showed the false start. I have done that same thing so many times. Getting started on the right path at trailheads can often be tricky - it is very easy to go off in the wrong direction. I know that and still get it wrong a lot!

Very nice hike, but I suspect the views are better between late fall and early spring.
