Love the wall. In the northeast here you will find through the forest around 4,000 miles of stone walls from early 1700s till now. Building them is my specialty for a hobby. The concrete cylinders may be fire pits for ariel marking. Well done video as always. Stay safe and well.

Must be cool to know how to do. A friend has built a 2 meter high replica of a Egyptian pyramide in side his house. He has spent 7 years building it and he has imported rocks from Egypt and building it with only hand tolls like the used so many years ago. He is a nutter indeed :) Thanks and more to come :)

Such a lovely spot; the beach area was soooooo relaxing. Still interesting on how the Germans used the terrain for their bunkers,etc. That long tunnel that ended with the "brick"; kinda looked like it went up because of that "cord" that was coming down and out toward you. NOW that would be very very interesting to see what is lying there!!! Thanks for such a grand tour; loved it all. Take care

Such a fascinating location. So many different types of shelters, and emplacements, you can almost see how they changed over the years. That one shelter with the well finished, plastered walls, might have been for those, "special", long term, senior NCO's, who knew they were there for the long hall, and wanted a bit of comfort. That one, long, rough, tunnel was really interesting. Almost like they had an idea, and then, the plans were changed, after all the hard work was done. The anti-tank wall was impressive, and would have taken a lot of effort, and time, to put together. It's good that such places, and structures, are still here for us to see, and ponder about. And the circular concrete tubs? Suspect they may have been for smoke canisters, and were probably one of the first things built, to help disguise the actually construction, and layout of the area, from Allied planes. Thank you guys, for all your time, and efforts, to bring us such amazing places! Cheers to you both!
@WW2HistoryHunter
@WW2HistoryHunter Ай бұрын
Could very well be actually and we have learned that several of the wooden cabins in the area were used by higher ranking officers. That tunnel is so overkill for the location we fell but so glad we found it. Tubs are most likely for camo webbing being placed over the positions. Thanks my friend and more to come soon :)

Another great adventure. How close were each of these locations to each other along the Atlantic wall. Did it depend on the layout of the land? I wonder if the plaster on the inside of the bunkers was used to help fight the moisture? I agree with you that during warm weather this was the place to be but it had to be horrible in the winter. The walkways over the openings between the rocks was interesting to see. It’s amazing after all the years in the salt air that they are still usable. It must be really impressive to see these locations in person.
@WW2HistoryHunter

How close they are depends on terrain and the rest of the types of the positions. Here it is around a couple of kilometers between them. The placer could be of that nature and purpose. Yes they did build a lot os unique stuff out there and cool to share that with you. Thanks my friend :)

To me what's messed up is how sadistic they were. My friends grandmother use to tell us stories when I was a teenager I'm 43 btw. She was in dachu I think its how its said. Could the round concrete bases be the footings for communication poles? Do any of them seem to align? I guess the majority of them would buried by now anyway. Its possible they made round concrete footings to speed up the installation process, as you would just drop the wooden pole into the footings & secure them in place.
