Did this yesterday after watching your video and must say you didn't do justice on the last little push to the top. It was brutal my friend. Ha ha. Thanks for your work I'm always a week behind you since I seem to go wherever you post last. Met 2 great dudes on trail. Eric Coleman of Coleman Outdoors and his friend Tony. It was a great day and a wonderful hike. Good day to be me.

That's very cool - glad you got to meet Eric, he's got a great KZbin channel too. And yea, the end is tough, especially when done with the distance and climbing before. I remember the first time I did the hike and looked at the last climb from the saddle. I was thinking, "no, it can't be..."

We just went today! The first part of the trail has a ton of fire ants all over it which made it hard to stop and rest 😄 thanks for the info, without it we wouldn’t have known this trail existed!

At 5.5K elevation, I'm surprised by the lack of pines in the area, I assume to many fires?
@Hikingguy2 жыл бұрын
Yea, 2009 Station Fire was the last big one to clobber this area

Not sure if I saw this one on live hard love harder. Kudos! Only I ever did was Baden Powell in Death Heat. And Baldwin Hill lol. West LA. Baldy. Nope. Friend did it in snow. Lived in Cal Shty. So went Whitney up. Walker Pass to Owens is nice. Not a big fan of Kennedy Meadows. Huge fan of 100 giants via Kernville. Love driving in from Keen side to Lake Isabella. Over Tehachapi to Keen. Curvy road over to Lake Isabella.

Thank you and yes, I did Knifes Edge years ago when I used to live on the East Coast. It's a classic, do it if you have a chance!
