Don’t forget the Garmin 2x which is awesome and I just bought for $349. 40 day battery life with flashlight, readiness score and training

Thanks for the heads up on that SOL bivvy. I didn't realize they had a breathable one on the market. I can't wait to try it out. I also noticed REI has the Nemo Tensor Extreme sleep pad marked down from $280 to $210. I've been using their last model (Nemo Tensor) for several years and love it. This newer extreme model has almost double the R value! Technology sure ia great. My pack seems to get lighter every year.

Just ordered an inReach via your link. My wife is happy...says about time. Thanks for this sale info, and all that you do. Looking forward to your summit of Mt. Rogers, and the Grayson Highlands area.

Great video and very informative,I have the fenix 7 solar, fenix 8 amoled and forerunner 955 ,all in beta,and I think this quarter the navigation will be broken in every those devices. The navigation will be equal to the fenix 8

The Edge 540 non solar edition is $249 which is an absolute steal for that cycling computer. Best Buy price matched mine since I just got it a few days ago.

Replacement for Inreach mini 2 and 67i around the corner with the same capabilities as Messenger Plus (sending pictures and voice messages)?
@Hikingguy3 күн бұрын
No idea but I wouldn't be surprised if they jammed the new modem into the existing units and made the "Mini 2 Pro" or "67i2" - if the new capabilities are important you might want to wait but having had Messenger Plus I rarely used any of the new stuff, just tracking and presets.

Hi! Do you think it's worth it to sell my fenix 7 solar sapphire and buy a the 7 pro solar sapphire? There is ecg, flashlight but what do you think about the screen transparency? Mine is too dark :( I was aiming on Enduro 3, but it has issues... Thank youuuuu
@Hikingguy2 сағат бұрын
I think the brightness difference between the solar and sapphire is very small / incremental, so I'd hang onto the F7 solar and maybe wait until the Enduro 3 stabilizes.

I’m thinking of buying a 67i. My question , Is garmin going to come out with a new hand held gps ? If so should I wait to purchase a new gps?
@Hikingguy3 күн бұрын
If you look at the history - 66 came out in late 2018, 67 in early 2023, the pattern says not for a while. That said there's the new inReach tech on the Messenger Plus that they might jam into a 67 or maybe make a 68. Either way,, the 67i is still great and I never find myself wishing for anything other than faster map redraws, which are probably not coming with a 68.

Interesting that the 67i is now the same price on sale as the new messenger plus. Seems crazy.

Yea, agree - also weird the that 67i is the same cost at the regular 67 w/o inReach

epix pro 2 47mm is 750 usd and fenix 8 47mm is 880, do you think is worth another 130 for the fenix 8 ?
@Hikingguy2 күн бұрын
If you want to get a few more years out of it, probably worth getting the F8
@JohnMatthewVOКүн бұрын
Would a mini and a watch make more sense than a mini and a 67?
@Hikingguy2 сағат бұрын
If you're thinking of a 67, get the 67i that has inReach and nav. Otherwise a watch and mini are a great combo.

I was using the Apple Watch Ultra 2 but went back to the Fenix 8, mainly for testing and it's gotten more stable. But if I was buying one today, I'd get the Epix Pro 51mm Sapphire
