One of the advantages of battery table saw might be the brushless motor. You never get brushless in corded saw motors ( one phase AC ). Brushless is more efficient, lasts longer without any service, should vibrate less and be less noisy...

My table saw is an early 80's elu flip saw. Never use it as a drop saw any more but used to years ago. They are an amazing old machine and will rip some big timber without any difficulty. One project I needed stacks of 50 x 5mm pices of hardwood. I made my own reverse fence and bought several lengths of 200 x 50mm. Hours later a lot of thin lengths of wood and it didn't miss a beat. Equally as happy ripping trim. Sheet stuff these days track saw.

The out-feed fence should have two little screws that go back into the ends of the tubes after they have been inserted, this will atom the fence from pulling all the way out @11:30

The BSL36B18 batteries (4.0Ah 36V ones) do have 21700 cells, and a much higher power output than the BSL36A18 (2.5Ah 36v) ones. You can tell them apart from each other just by size.

@@neilewen338 Hikoki 8/4ah are 1440 w, Metabo 5.5ah used in their 10" table saw gives 1620 w......of course this is at the individual cell nominal voltage of 3.6v, so fully charged new batteries at around 4.1v per cell will see these wattage numbers rise even further. I guess we all gotta become battery experts nowadays!!

Hi Oz Tool Talk Team Can we please have an Cordless Table Saw Head to Head review? Im really keen on purchasing a Table Saw in the near future and would love to see a battle of the brands to determine the way to go. At this stage I am dedicated Bosch with a sprinkling of DeWalt, so would be good to see these options in there. Cheers Matt

I'm sorry Matt, I don't see that in our future any time soon.

I come from a cabinet saw background but due to a workshop rebuild, went cordless. I'm between Bosch Professional and Hikoki here in the UK. my current table saw is the Bosh GTS18v216, Initially loved it, but there are problems. whe it arrived, it wasn't fine calibrated and because of trying to get the workshop back up and running, at the time I wasn't really bothered about precision cuts, but now I'm working on a rather unique project, the saw is letting me down in a few aspects. and going cordless is a particular need. yes I realise that cordless saws aren't designed for precision, more for the job site, but this hikoki sounds interesting. Is this using a standard thickness blade or a thin kerf? Thin Kerf aren't so easy to get in the UK in certain sizes and blade profiles. I do have to admit, 10" would be a huge help but I'd like to know a few things please. Firstly, is the rip fence rack and pinion or like the bosch, just slide out? are the mitre fence slots standard 3/4" size or unique? Some bosch models like the GTS10XC have their propriatry channel for the sliding rail and no third party mitre fence will work, there are a good number of complaints and cases about this saw in it's design. (sorry, bosh) Is the blade angle rack and pinion? Does the rip fence stay parallel to the blade or is there any drift error? if so, can it be adjusted?

Be great to see hikoki giving away the ac adapter via redemptions (or even dropping the ridiculous price) like they have in America. Maybe you could suggest it? Nice review guys

ok I understand the power question here, and I did notice in the comments, about the battery, so what battery did you guys use, was it the smaller 2.5 ah @36v battery? or the larger 4 ah i think at 36v, i think it's 8 ah in 18v.... Also have you guys been able to compare the power of the M18 table saw to this one? Also changing the blade size is possible with this saw, could you try placing a 8.5 inch saw and compare that to the Milwaukee, or a corded Dewalt? Don't have to make a video, just asking if that's something that from experience you maybe able to derive some type of conclusion?
@OZToolTalk3 жыл бұрын
hi Phantom, good questions. We used the 2.5Ah and are going to try the 4Ah soon (Hikoki are sending), we'll pop up some some on Instagram about that. Haven't tried against the M18 sorry

@@Therealphantomzero Yeah i got the cordless mitre too. Thanks for the tip. I am pretty shocked at how non rigid the saw is and how sloppy the positive stop increments are. Some of the cheap home handyman saws from bunnings are better in that regard. Its definately no makita/dewalt/milwalki. Or even a hitachi of old. What the hell are they doing.

@@deanosslewis I additionally make sure just to use the locking level but I get accurate cuts to me it's not a big deal I had a rigid 12 inch I just got rid of ice way too big and two too much flex in the head, but this one is fine and I had a friend who is super outfit and so far he likes it. No festool but still for potability and small trim work good, this saw really made for compound mitering, breasted crown the fence is too small without a jig but I like it

Don’t buy this saw it is rubbish!! I had my one with a non start problem straight out of the box, had it replaced 4 months later same problem had it repaired by Hikoki after waiting almost 3 months to get it back now it’s out of warranty from the original purchase date and guess what it failed again ! Now they want me to pay to get it repaired again 🤬 I don’t even do heavy work on it I do 15mm cedar cladding with it so no abuse of any sort I’m gutted wasted my money…..
