Just a query, bought this model camera works great but no light on at default? Rigged it up for test and works great but no light on? Also do they come factory default at TVI? Any info appreciated thanks Gary

Hi Gary, I can confirm that the white light is set to come on 'out of the box and, that they are indeed also set to TVI as default. This is because Hikvision prefer TVI to other HD variants plus, their DVR's are also set to this as standard. The sightly newer model is a 2.8mm now instead of the original 3.6mm but, that is the only change. P.s Just remember that if you have strong street lights near by they do not always flick the white light on. I would power the camera up and put black electrical tape over the lens to mask all light coming in. If that doesn't bring the light on there is something wrong. Hope this helps. Hi Debra, Unfortunately there are installers, and there are installers and, this question should be directed at them but, here are some quick tips: 1, If there is sufficient light where the camera has been placed eg: street lights. Then the light will no activate. This is because the "lux light reading" has been measured by the camera and there is already sufficient light to accomplish a colour picture. 2, If more than one camera is not illuminating then check that the installer hasn't manually gone into the cameras "via the PTZ control" and switched the lights off. 3, Always choose a "compliant and reliable installer" Because this is not really a complicated issue, that a good installer should be able to remedy or explain in 20 minutes. 4, If there is a fault on one or maybe even more cameras, then ask the installer to replace the units concerned as "all" new CCTV installs should carry a no quibble 1 year warranty. Hi Matt, The most obvious one would be that there is other light sources interfering with it Eg: Street lights or just natural moon light. ColorVU cameras need only a small amount of light to see pretty much everything at night. I have cameras installed that will not activate the white light on moon lit nights but, will activate when the clouds come over. Log into the camera through the PTZ menu and and select "smart light" then turn the "threshold" up or down to ask the camera to bring the light on earlier or, later under different lighting conditions. Login on the IP of the camera. There are more options in your camera than some NVR's. Your NVR does what your camera wants. Even if he hasn't got the functions.

Hi, Quote: "One of cctv no1 light has gone out" Exactly which light has gone out? If it's one of the flashing strobe lights, then you have a faulty camera, as they are activated together. If it's the white light in the center of the strobes, then check you've not switched it off in the "Camera internal menu!" Hi, Unfortunately too I have encountered some Hikvision ColorVu cameras that will not activate the flashing functionality of the white light. All the ones I've bumped into have been the 5MP version. I have yet to find a 2MP model that hasn't worked. I can only imagine it's a software issue. Hope this helps, Paul CCTV Systems UK

@@CCTVSystemsUK Found something interesting, have 3 of theese camera. Two of the have sowtware V1.05.02 and one has V1.04.01. Older one does turn on flash light on motion but newer ones doesnt 😀 is there way to rever to older sowtware version?
