@xian ece.. issue resolved.... i wanted to share if someone is having the same issue.. the issue was with my Hikvision 72-HQHi-F2-N DVR. the credentials, Network info and time always used to reset whenever i tried to shutdown, restart the DVR either Gracefully or Forcefully .. i used to have reconfigure the DVR each time after reboot or Shutdown. i Checked CMOS battery as you instructed.. although the battery itself was completely expired but same issue was there after replacing the battery .. then the last option i left with, was the firmware upgrade... i downloaded the firmware from the link that you shared (thanks a lot for sharing the link) then i downloaded the latest firmware (common not specific). the common firmware has few words with its name and version like DS-72xx-F-N for all devices... i downloaded the common one instead of the specific and tried to upgrade the firmware.. upgraded successfully .. now the problem is resolved.. i restarted , shutdown the DVR gracefully and forcefully after making configuration and upgrading the firmware but now its working fine. it saved all the credentials, network info and time.. sorry for so heavy msg but i just wanted to share my history that how did i resolve the issue with your help.. Once again thanks for your Help. Keep it up..

I have the 7208HUHI-f2/n dvr, it was advertised as being AHD, HDTVI, CVI compatible. How do i change input mode to AHD? Says NO VIDEO on all channels, cams brand new worked on prior dvr no problem.

@@xianece1 I confirmed with the manufacturer of the camera's they are in fact AHD. My problem is, I think the dvr doesn't recognize them as correct signal format, how do I change the setting on this DVR model? Firmware is up to date 3.4.9 is there an update i dont know about? Or hidden menu? To select HDTVI - AHD CVBS - IP?

i have the updated software .. checked on the link you share.. i wanted to upgrade the software just because whenever my DVR reboots or shutdown either forcefully or Gracefully, it looses its credentials and i have to configure it from the scratch while i don't face any problem like this on my other DVRs.. need your help in this regard.. thanks a lot in advance.

Be aware that after upgrading the firmware, old stored video will not show on the new one, please do backup before upgrading if there is important videos. Upgraded firmware includes new interface and easy to navigate environment.
