I remember seeing every one of those commercials in 1972! I was driving a 1969 Roadrunner and 1961 Ford Ecnoline pickup with the snub nose.

My pop had 69 Ranchero we hauled snowmobiles on the bed that he built a wood carrier, and pulled a trailer with two sleds also. 2 on the truck and 2 on the trailer. Thank god for the 390 CU auto trans . He bought it in Denver after a special order. Great truck !

My dad had a '72 Ford F250 Explorer pickup. It didn't ride like a car, especially not like an LTD.

We had the '71 Ford F250 Custom Pickup. He had to do some modifications on it to make it handle our camper. By the time he was done, it was better than Ford's own Camper Special package. They boasted that the camper special could handle slide-in campers as big as 11 feet. Ours was 12 1/2 feet.

I remember so many of these from "Hockey Night in Canada. Brought to you by Ford." I aways thought the early 70s Fords were the best looking pickups ever.

1972 was the last year for those fifth generation Ford F-series pickups & same with the medium duty models with that same cab design.

5th Gen body style was revolutionary, IMO. The addition of trim levels, suspension parts interchangeable, and overall increased dimensions compared to 4th gen. My 12th gen just turned 13. Lol

I bought a new 72 F -150. It was a beautiful truck 302 ci auto air red & white . I had it around 2 months and the trans with out got it back and it went through 3 quart's of oil between changes. Out of the 75 trucks on the lot I got the lemon of ford trucks.

Now those are what you call pick up trucks. You’re not try to be cool in it. You just use it fast forward to now and it’s a bunch of guys trying to be macho.
