Benn is a two-faced careerist. Only 2 weeks ago, just after the Paris bombing, he was opposed to air strikes and just as strongly calling for all efforts to be put into the peace process. The peace process is only six months away from stabilizing an interim government in Syria and a year from "free and fair elections" - and that's according to Cameron and everyone in the peace talks. This speech smacks of cynical opportunism.

A speech full of emotion without doubt, but this war isn't well thought, they keep saying we're going after IS, but they haven't planned what they will do, how they will plan it. it will be people that will be targeted, an airstrike doesn't ask whether they're IS or not. at the end we keep making the same and same mistakes and hardly anything good comes from it and sadly reading from the comment box people still buy it.

@cup1966wow9 жыл бұрын
+likeastarbaby It really baffles me that people have no understanding of the UK's rules regarding air strikes and such. All airstrikes need to go through a few levels of authorisation before they can commence, and believe it or not an airstrike that could harm innocents will not be allowed, it maybe by other countries, but our rules around it are a lot stricter, it has to be proven there will be no casualties before it can go ahead. Also the airstrikes have made a difference in Iraq, it has pushed them back, but as talked about in the speech they just move between Syria and and Iraq. Also people need to understand the situation out there is very different to how Afghanistan was where the Taliban hid among the normal people. IS in Syria and Iraq however aren't doing that they are more like a conventional army. Which is why airstrikes are more effective than they would otherwise be. Also another point I hear no one complaining about bombing Iraq, is that some how fine? The fact people are complaining about how they vote is frankly pathetic, its the same people who talk about free speech but as soon as they disagree with them its wrong. Hypocrisy at its finest, I frankly find it funny how everyone wants sheep when it suits them.

If I'd spent all that time doing my research, marshalling my thoughts, putting them into words and then delivering them to the HoCs, I would be extremely pissed off with those two twats behind me texting and giggling every few minutes as if the issues discussed don't merit their attention. I hope they lose their seats, because we electors need better representatives than that. (I'm so angry with those two. How bloody dare they?!)

Who are the three MP's behind Hilary Benn, one who was having a good laugh on his phone during this speech while the other two were seemingly glued to theirs throughout?
