John Laurence's reporting during the war was amazing to watch as a child in the USA. He, Dan Rather and Ken Kashiwahara reported first hand among the fighting. Soldiers telling the truth of war. RIP All

I see stuff like this and I always wonder where all of these people are today. This generation didn’t get the credit they deserved for serving our country. Thank them and shake their hands when you see them.

What a pity. Thank God for these men's service. I know I will definitely not forget. Glad I served also.

had me in tears in the end when they said james buchner had died only a month after this film.so tragic to think he was many a young man not to make it home.heartbreaking but through this film we keep his memory alive.god bless him and all those who served.

best documentary I have seen with actual combat footage of the front line troops. It puts the viewer on the ground with the grunts. It is sobering as hell to say the least.

Watching this is probably the closest we'll ever get to experiencing what it was like to actually be there. Whatever your opinion on the war these were/are brave men, it must have been terrifying.

Can you believe the lives lost taking that hill twice a dam shame lives lost for what that's why politicians should never have a hand or say so in any battle when it comes to a decision where veterans like me are involved and too think most if not every single one had no experience in war and its easy for you armchair QB to criticized us thinking we lost the war when in fact we won most if not all of the battles only to have the people and politicians abandoned us and not welcome us home as heroes but as l don't know what America thought of us but I know if it was bad it's a shame

I really can’t imagine being drafted my dad’s best friend was drafted he was exposed to agent orange that caused birth defects in his kids......I joined the US Navy at 17 graduated high school and in 2 months I was off to boot camp, I wanted to be a sailor got to travel the world got to go to Mogadishu in the mid 90’s, I still can’t see forcing people to go into the military and then all the shit they dealt with coming back spat on called baby killers by those who believe infanticide is my body my choice.....

In Vietnam the enemy had learned the US tactics which were always the same. You were never going to get that final show down you wanted because the North knew their limits and chances aganist our superior fire power and they would fade back and disappear is if they were never on hill 943 to begin with. Even after taking any of those hills we never stayed and claimed any of those hills. Khe Sanh was one exception to the rule built in 1962 and after the 77 day siege of Khe Sanh the whole base was abandon and dismantled.

Really enjoyed the footage of Nam. The idea of reporters in a combat zone still makes me angry though.

Why? Reporters on the battle front have probably saved many soldiers lives , ever since William Russell exposed the stupidity of the Generals at the Crimea.
