I love this series so much and am so grateful that you created this for all the types! This video was particularly meaningful to me, Hillary. Just everything from how we can feel like all the types, remember the motivations, to just realizing this doesn't define me. I can get so attached to my number because I need everything to have meaning and purpose. Speaking to me! Also, I love the coffee intros now! 😂☕️

I am (still) confused about if I’m a 3 or a 6. I feel like I go to 6 and 9 when unhealthy. 🤔 but ultimately, I go back to being a 3. Helpful to hear about the differences between the two. I’m definitely a full-steam-ahead, just do it kind of gal.
@enneagramandcoaching4 жыл бұрын
The go full steam ahead sounds more like a 3 than a 6. My son is a type 3 and goes towards the 6 and 9 when unhealthy. This has more to do with the levels of heath. When I’ve watched your videos I’ve totally thought you’re a type 3. But it can take time to land on your actually type. And really only you really know your own motivations. Ian Morgan Cron thought he was a 7 for a year before landing on his actual type a 4. Which you probably already know all this 😂 Thanks for sharing! I know so many other types probably can relate to you! 😃

I am a Three (not certified by any enneagram coach but i am the most stereotypical three you could find, just trust me on this one-) and when I wasn't too into enneagram, just checked it out since i love the mbti (entj btw) I immediately mistyped as an 8 (somehow flat-out ignoring the fact that the description of 3 literally made me feel uncomfortable) and when I looked into it again in quarantine, while reading about 3 my exact thoughts were "oh god, am I a Three?? But Eights are cooler, and I act like an Eight all the time!" and that's when it dawned on me and I physically just went "...Oh."

Here I am again talking about the tri-type...because Wow! every time I watch one of the videos about 3's, I realize I really really had decided in my early 20's and into my 30's that 7 just wasn't working for me. I so identify with almost all of the 3 things during that period of life. I really only saw my worth when I was achieving things and thought way too much about what other people thought of me. I would show off with things I did well and always go above and beyond for the attention I could get from that. So, crazy when I look back at that now, and so thankful that God has brought a lot of healing in my life and I am happy being a 7...most of the time.

I grew up being competitive without being assertive about it. I love efficiency and push myself to do things in the best way possible, even if i am not aware of it. However, i have been so stressed in my childhood and general life, i behaved more like a 9 than a 3. I believe i am a Self Preservation 3, and i would be curious about my wing(which i suspect leans more towards 4) as well as how moving to being a 6 would be like. I spent most of 2020 on self development and spiritual growth too. It literally felt like i preferred knowledge to gaming for the first time of my life. But i still act very much withdrawn socially. I did not know the full extent of my feelings, and i avoided meditation and journaling for most of my life, even if i knew it would be good for me. Thanks for the video!

Absolutely loved this video!! I got into the Enneagram about 2 months ago and your videos have really helped me to land on my type. I struggled SO much when initially just taking tests and reading brief type descriptions! I'd often get 2, 3, 7, and 9 among my top results and even thought I was a 2 for a while. But your deep dives and videos have helped me to recognize that I'm truly a 3w2 (*very* strong 2 wing!) and I just feel so happy and seen! I recommend your videos to everyone. I love this series in particular! Really helps me to feel solidified in my type 🥰💕

I’m on a path of finding my own value and where I want to be in life! And your videos have been a huuuge motivator and comforter to me. I’m enrolling into school for Interior Design, a dream of mine since I was a little girl. Of course a 9 could put off their dream for THAT long. Lol. Keep being a light and a blessing. Your beauty shines and I thank God that you’re sharing your gift with all of us!! ♥️♥️

The online test I took typed me as a nine, with a five as the next highest. Because I am an introvert and a scientist, I kept thinking it had to be the five. It wasn’t, though. After reading about both, I’m definitely a nine. I keep going between being happy to find that I’m not alone and being almost disturbed by how well I am described by people who have never met me. I’m really enjoying your videos and have recommended them to my sister. She’s a two married to an eight with one son who’s a three and another son who’s a five.

I'm confused as to whether I'm a 3 or an 8. I strongly resonate with the key motivations, the fear, an the desires of a 3, but I don't act like one. I can't find the motivation to get work done, but I really want to. This has gone on for a while. Could this be because of disintegration and my depression?
@alyssadenise37874 жыл бұрын
I really enjoy feeling admired and valuable, and when I can't get that I lose hope and spiral. I can be quite reclusive and isolate myself from the world, which makes it worse, but my ambition is always there. I have nothing to channel it into and nothing to achieve sometimes. I can easily adapt personalities which can later bother me a bit (I'd definitely have a strong four wing). I brag over minor accomplishments and embellish for praise, and I really want to be seen as better than others. I originally thought I was a 4, but I hate emotions and desperately try to repress them. I find them to be a weakness. I also enjoy not being my true self, as bad as that sounds to say
@alyssadenise37874 жыл бұрын
I also relate to the fear of an 8. I'm assertive and aggressive and enjoy being in control of situations. I absolutely hate taking orders from others, but I also think things over before acting to a avoid conflict (I'd have a 9 wing). I have anger issues, and I generally enjoy being in charge, but then again it's for that feeling of superiority. I do highly resonate with the key motivations, fear, and desires of a 3 more, but I probably act more like a 9 or 8 lately. My family views me as lazy, but I'm really just depressed and want to strive to be the best

Do you have any videos that go deeper into the motivations and fears of each type. I still can't decide if I'm a type 1 or 3. I thought I was a 1 but now I'm thinking maybe a 3. I prefer to have things done right vs being "efficient" and just getting it done (if you're going to do something, do it right or why do it at all, is what I think), but I saw someone else's video on type 3 and they talked about the basic fears of type 3 is being worthless apart from our accomplishments and basic desires is to feel valuable, which I totally related to. However, when I read The Road Back to You and I read about the 1w9, that described me to a T, but then when you said 3s when stressed can look like an unhealthy 9, well that describes me as well. So now I'm just confused; I don't know if I'm a 1 or 3.

Hi, I mistyped myself as a self preservation 1 for the past 3 years and just realized I'm a self preservation 3. The biggest difference for me is I'm a huge rule follower but only if people are watching. When no one is around, I tend to break the rules. I'd hate to admit it but everything for me revolves around my image and how others see me. I hope that helps.

Most of my friends are 3w2. I'm 3w4. One of the quickest and easiest ways to tell us apart is to pay attention to how we brag, which we do often even in the average range. A 3w2 brags out of context and very matter-of-factly: "I have a master's degree in accounting." A 3w4 uses bragging in a sentence as a form of lamenting: "It's too bad I don't qualify for that job, since I only have a master's degree in accounting." The 3w2 brags like a walking resume. The 3w4 brags like a walking eulogy. Contrary to popular opinion, we don't brag to be mean. We do it because we want to be liked and admired. Sometimes our desire to be liked and admired overshadows our ability to sense how other people feel while we're bragging. If more people knew that about us, they might be more patient when we start bragging. And one of the best ways to get it to stop is to just tell us, "Wow, that's great," and then start talking about something else. I use that sentence frequently on my friends which probably explains why so many of my friends are threes. They like the acknowledgement.
@heidihaeni77834 жыл бұрын
Another thing, I have to be careful not to play the one up game with my enneatype three friends. 3w2: "My mom used to own a Steinway Grand." Me: "It's sad that I haven't been able to practice the pipe organ during covid lockdown." Ouch! You can see why I instead use the phrase, "Wow, that's great" and move on.
