I ditched the bushing clutches a couple years ago and replaced them with the Hilliard Fury's that have needle bearings. Not sure if there's any performance gains but they definitely last longer if maintained.

i have both clutches both stall at 3,300rpms. both are on heavy modded 212's. i like the max torque on my mini bike because it engages more smoothly when it bites. and i like the hilliard on my go kart because it bites harder out of the hole.

Been waiting on a comparison between these awesome.
@presmak05422 жыл бұрын
Since you done a comparison on flywheel gap clearance,you should do a video on different brands of spark plug performance on a predator 212 to see if one does better.
@Black662 жыл бұрын
I did do a spark plug video on the Predator 223. Check it out. kzbin.info/www/bejne/mGaxpYWbfa2rl9U

I love the comparisons!! I really would like to see a nibbi 24mm vs a nibbi 26mm carb on the same bike.
@edgualdino6282 жыл бұрын
Differences in carbs will depend on the engine because one will run smoother an faster all depends on the engine Biggers not always better

I like the max torque myself. I came across a new clutch with needle bearings instead of a bushing.

I just picked up a Hilliard extreme duty clutch for a kart. In comparison I did have a china boy on hand and noticed the drum was thicker on the Hilliard. I don't have a Max torque on hand. Is the MT as thick as the Hilliard?
@danielswierczynski2001 Жыл бұрын
Great video. I'm wondering if changing the engagement to 1800 on the Hilliard might make for a faster time off the line. Usually you want the take-off rpms to be in the power band, but I'm thinking the extra 500 rpm and quicker engagment might shave off some time on the 0-30. Perhaps a video on changing the springs and testing? I think new springs are $15.00 a set at OMB. Thanks!

Luv the channel! Planing a bike build now to go to vintage sports car racing events (to get around the tracks) and your content is invaluable. BTW, where did you get the blue Corvette model on your bench? Love it!

Thanks! I picked the Corvette up at the Death Valley Nut and candy company in Pahrump Nevada.

I had both but i like the hillard hard choice purchased my second hillard no slips no problems easy to replacement parts an you can upgrade it to better fury clutch an add needle bearing think this is better in long run 3 summer for hillard not one issue no slips things a tank

What I want to know is the stock engagement for both clutches !!!
@miguelpagansr61282 жыл бұрын
For stock and reliability I go with the max torque, for modded application I go with the Hilliard I think it’s more oriented for race applications.
@mark98070 Жыл бұрын
Which one gave you smoother engagement? My side by side has rough engagement at the start. Could this be a worn clutch?

Excellent episode B66. I never imagined there was so much aftermarket upgrades for minibikes. I enjoy your data board and how you keep record of performance gains. I am very interested in the minibike ride you participated in last year. How did the bike perform and what would you do to make it better?

The Hillard is great for reliability because I've actually broke a Max torque clutch the backplate can't handle that much stress on the Max torque clutch because the plate will crack the way the hilliards built it won't do that

What a beautiful sky out there. I haven’t seen a deep blue sky in years. Anyway I’m off topic I just picked up a CDI electronic ignition with variable timing so after 4000 RPM my bike won’t retard. Can’t wait to put it in from what I hear you can get a couple thousand extra RPM out of your bike. If you’re interested I’ll hook you up with the link the guy lives in Canada and he only sells them on Facebook

What if you put the 20 tooth in behind the 10 or 13 tooth and run a higher torque clutch that engages sooner so you can use more of the rpms, I'm cheaply redoing the jackshaft to a new pair of mb200 im ordering, i have sprockets and clutches ready to order at the end of next month, im trying to help get her ready for a longer camping trip we're taking them on, I'm not a fan of torque converters, an am looking to get good use out of a jackshaft setup. I would really like comments and opinions plz.
@Only1Shogun62 жыл бұрын
The hell it will last longer and perform better. I still have my Heller clutch haven't had one problem out of it dragging or overheating
@barnfresh378711 ай бұрын
At top speed both clutches should have locked up solid with the sprocket turning the same speed as the crankshaft. Both clutches have 12 teeth on the sprocket so the gear ratios are exactly the same. Yet one has a higher top speed ???......Huh go figure!?
