I agree and also think: instead of kurama having a back up, he already had an understanding of his chakra in hima since her conception. It would make sense to think of baryon mode as some form of foreshadowing. Kyuubi knew the cons of a jinchuriki while possibly having learned of this phenomena with hima (thus introducing baryon to Naruto and knowingly reincarnating in hima cuz boruto was already occupied by momo) good stuff dude.

I don't see much potential with Himawari having just Kurama but because Kishi favorite character is the ninetail to the point that he even drew him into Naruto top ranking poster despite being excluded from the list and emphasizing more about Kuruma/Kushina than Minato in his own Oneshot than anything is possible with Himawari obtaining new kind of Kuruma synchronizing power. Fast forward to baryon mode fight against isshiki when kurama did die, boruto was almost an complete vessel, meaning he could no longer be a considerable host. So kuramas last bit of chakra seeked out the only the only liable source he could find which was himawari. She already inherited his chakra, and she has no other being inside of her.
