Removed the Pervomaiske video--turns out the video is a couple of days old. So here is a Buk getting destroyed instead. Sorry about that!

@@peterkling8501 I think it's easy to forget that war is just more work on top of daily life. War doesn't mean the bills stop. Plus, both countries are in desperate need of food for export in order to fill the war-chests, so I doubt particularly the Russians are letting farmers take any days off.

That was a pin point accuracy from the Himars. Don't think it was a HARM since a drone already got the location of the target. There is another video were 3 rockets missed by several meters a Yastreb-AV, probably Rus used EWS in that occasion.

That was no fragmentation warhead. There was no spread, and chunks of burning solid rocket fuel were immediately thrown around. If HIMARS did it, it was a GLSDB or some other unitary warhead.

Commented this last time, I'll do it again, the standard Buk unit, the TELAR *is* a radar, it stands for Transporter Erector Launcher And Radar. TELs don't have one but there are more TELARs than TELs. It's a tracking radar specifically, it struggles to find aircraft on it's own but is what lets you shoot missiles at them. The Buk system was designed this way to make it much harder to defeat. Taking out a Buk's TAR helps to 'blind' them a bit, but they can still point the individual TELARs at suspected target directions or get the information from other units
@TheFrewahАй бұрын
So there are TEL’s and TELAR’s but only the latter has a radar? A TEL needs a nearby TELAR so that it can hit something, is that correct?

I’m thinking their gonna go after radars and Sam systems and take as many out as possible before they bring in the f-16s
@TheFrewahАй бұрын
Indeed! You want to make sure there are as few threats as possible. As soon as they turn thm on, they give away their position and I’m not sure they have good operators.
@Jermo7899Ай бұрын
@@TheFrewah at this point Russia has gone through their best, so these guys are less trained and possibly never seen combat. So hopefully their stupidity along with luck will spell DOOM for these Sam systems. it’s what the U.S. did in desert storm and it worked like a charm. I hope Ukraine has the same luck using a better HARM missile. But, for now the drones are doing a good job spotting and eliminating targets.
@TheFrewahАй бұрын
@@Jermo7899 I heard an intercepted phone call quite some time ago. The guy had a huge problem with the new people who had no idea what was good to do and what wasn’t. No training whatsoever. I assume the smartest they find get some training and then sent to operate expensive things where they still have to learn a lot as they go.
