Very informative video to capture the whole journey. I did Lobuche East and Island Peak earlier this month. Himlung will be my next target.

Incredible journey! I'm curious, did you have porter support from BC to higher camps for carrying equipment?
@adidoesultra9777
@adidoesultra9777 9 ай бұрын
We didn't have porter support above BC. On the way up we carried all our stuff by ourselves (we used the tents another expedition had pitched) and on the way down our sherpas carried the tents back to BC. But everything from food to cooking equipment to climbing gear we carried ourselves!

@@danwirth3511we booked it that way. Support is always available if you pay for it, you just have to talk to your organization/sherpas/porters. Camp 1 is possible for porters, for camp 2 and 3 you need sherpas.

I did Ecuador (2x5.000m on glacier, see my video on it) and Peru (3x6.000m, 1 on glacier) beforehand to get some experience in high altitute. Sportsclimbing (ropework, rappelling etc.) and hiking to get experience and endurance

I have a new pair of La Sportiva G2 Evo boots I used on Lobuche East in late November. Do you think these boots are suitable for this. I'm thinking to go in April this year?
@adidoesultra9777
@adidoesultra9777 Жыл бұрын
I used my G2 Evos in Peru and Ecuador and did pretty well with them so far. You could probably use them, there were a few guys with similar boots to the G2 up on the summit. But if you tend to have cold feet, I'd look for 8.000m ones, especially since it can get pretty cold and bad on Himlung. We had great weather, but you can also have storm and clouds...

@@adidoesultra9777 Thank you. Do you have any thoughts on going April vs going October. I've heard Nepal Spring there can be snowy to hamper summit chances then.
@adidoesultra9777
@adidoesultra9777 Жыл бұрын
@@thurstonhowellthe3rd as I'Ve only been in October I can't comment on that, but the Manaslu region had heavy snowfalls just before we got there, so the earlier expeditions (early october) had to deal with that as well. Guess it's fairly unpredictable tbh

easy climbing? any issue ? suggestion ?
@adidoesultra9777
@adidoesultra9777 Жыл бұрын
It's technically an "easier" mountain but together with the altitude, cold etc. I recommend doing some 5.000m and 6.000m mountains first. Something like Chimborazo in Ecuador or Island/Mera Peak in Nepal
