My brother died in 2003 in an accident. He was 25 and I was 13, and for many reasons he was also my hero. One week before he passed away, he told me to start to hear some real music, and introduced to me Pearl Jam. Listening to them makes me feel really connected with him, so I can't be more thankful to this band. They marked my brother's life, and the mine too.

I'm actually your age, and my older brother just passed away in January. He always loved 90s rock, especially Pearl Jam. That's what brought me here too. This song hits me completely differently now. I can't help but be saddened in the deepest way listening to this song. It's beautiful though and like you said, it keeps me connected to my brother in some way.

Eddie has never directly talked about Chris's death and how hard it affected him. He was ripped up in social media for not going to the funeral or the tribute concert with Tom Morello and Serj and others, which I think is BS. They were close Lily and Toni call him and the rest of PJ uncle, we all grieve differently, it doesnt change the love we have for that person that passed. The way he breaks down even just the croak in his voice, the sniffle right after you can see the hurt in him. When he choked up it got me, had a few tears come up, even my pooch came over to me to make sure i was ok lol

@josecano92104 жыл бұрын
Eddie spoke several times about Kurt’s death affecting him, Eddie locked himself in a room and wrote a song about Layne the night he was found, Eddie probably hasn’t said much of his feelings of Chris bc it’s painful, he took Kurt’s death hard, he took Layne’s death even harder so who knows how bad he took Chris’ death maybe him not talking about it is his way of grieving
@nukchuu14 жыл бұрын
@Association of Free People even in his interview the other day on Howard stern he didnt really answer the question in detail so even 3 years later it is still on his mind and hurts.
@jenniferlay98123 жыл бұрын
Yes he did speak Cris cornell died right after eddie's little brother died he said he had to put himself in denial about Cris because he knew if he didn't he wouldn't be able to come back from it he couldn't handle it so he shut down so his daughters wouldn't see him get worse after just loosing his little brother he was already in too dark of a place watch his interview about it with howard stern he even said he's still in denial he's not yet let it hit him I think he struggles inside more than any of us could imagine that's why so much of his music is emotional
@mandyjuelz3 жыл бұрын
He didn’t go for a reason. Many of Chris friends and family hate Vicky for several reasons. She simply used Chris for his money. She even threatened to sue his brother Peter who was doing a suicide awareness project for Chris. She threatened that if he didn’t end the project immediately, she would sue b/c making it look as if Chris was naturally struggling and was suicidal would affect the outcome of her big lawsuit with the makers of Ativan. She’s disgusting. Many of Chris friends weren’t there because of her and have to grieve him in their own way.

I don't believe I've ever seen anything like it. His total trust in that audience expressing very personal emotions of pain, silent suffering and anger. Eddie Vedder is an amazing person. And I agree that I also noticed that he is living in the pain right now and wants so badly to think his way out of the loss of his "big brother". But I say to Mr. Vedder, 'we all do' and we all are living in denial for good reason that it just can't be. I say please come off your tour for a few weeks to charge back up because we all have lost so much, we can't fathom the losing you.

There's a girl somewhere in the world who broke Eddie's heart, and she probably lived her life with no idea of the lasting impact of what she did. On the other hand, this song stands as a witness to a love and loss story that we've all experienced at some point. Every time this song plays, a little bit of that person and feeling comes back; sometimes, it brings a smile, other times, it draws a tear.

This shows why this is one of the greatest rock songs (if not the) of all time. The sheer connection between artist and audience, the profound heartbreak and sadness that anyone in that crowd (and we in front of our computer screens) can relate to and the attitude to perform it in the only right way....

Listening to Black is a portal to my painful past as a young adult. Every note🎶 shivers threw my blood to this day. At the same time I crave these emotions just to let me know I'm still alive. Thank you Eddie🎶🎼

One of the most moving performances I’ve ever seen.🥰Totally heart wrenching! Epic job with this one Eddie! You will always be first class & Chris Cornell is right over your shoulder smiling & rockin’🤘🏻right along with you. 😇R.I.P. man...2 unbelievably talented artists. Vedder singing & his long lost friend whom he’s singing the song to, Cornell.😭The world loves Vedder & Cornell. Please keep making songs that give the listening world goose bumps Eddie?🙏🏻 Never STOP!💓💗

I can't belive this has happened to Chris, he was already an old mature man, and he just did something that we all assumed that was not a risk anymore. It makes me think of how we have to police ourselves everyday, it's not about age, I have to fight against it to the rest of my life

I totally understand...many members of my family are at risk. The constant pressure these musicians face every day puts them at further risk. We just need to embrace those around us & give them the love & support needed to keep them stop. I do this for my husband & children every day.

Chris was suicided, him and chesster.... do a little research... they were involved in a film project exposing the hooli-wood elite , pedi-file ring. Sad...
