A different side to Hindemith. Always fascinating!

Well, here is another and I think it is wonderful - Richter and the players and the conductor are immaculate and full of the rhythmic precision, sparkle and zest which this neglected work really needs. They rehearsed a lot and it shows - marvellously. The wonderful passge in the second movement with muted strings is out of this world. The recording of the Berg Chamber Concerto, with Richter, Oleg Kagan and the same ensemble (composed of very gifted, well prepared and uncynical students) with the same conductor (Yuri Nikolayevsky) is - by far - the finest I have heard.

Echt unvergleichlicher Pianist!

Why no comments about this piece? Really a big Richter at his best. Dedicated to Keith Emerson ( in memory). Giants of the keyboard. We can only stay and listen.

The first movement sounds surprisingly Prokofievesque to me
