The problem with integration is that Swedens plan was to integrate these people into their culture, but these people have no interest in that and instead demand Swedes integrate into their culture.

The immigrants' culture is tied to their religion, but you can't touch their religion. So, the result is no integration.
@erenkur3832

The problem is caused by the high numbers of people entering the country in short time. Turks and Syrians are both muslims and actually among the Arabs Syrians are the culturally closest to Turks yet there are some problems. I can't deny religion is tightly tied into the Culture. An average Muslim or Christian can do well togother, but in theory they both believe they are true believers, and only they are doing the true while the others are destined to hell. They believe their style is the right one, and they try to conserve their community. So, it is normal to have parallel communities living togother. But still when people integrated into the society, most of them somehow integrate. Jews lived thousands of years in Europe, they had been integrated but it had not stopped them to be persecuted. I am trying to find a land where there is no problem between different Religions, if we don't count extremists perhaps UK is such an example. Sometimes having strict nationality definitions etc can cause the problems. If the supreme French culture is well defined then the Arab that still Shops north african sausages from a halal butcher can be a problem. But if you make Curry your Cousine then the Indians cooking food in Britain would be well integrated. Emmigration is something beneficial as long as kept in control I believe. I am a Turk, and I love my culture and don't like the change. I don't like Arab sisha cafees in my country but, well, change is a natural thing. I believe the important thing is to keep things in control. Change is natural but it should not harm the society's well being. Also, humankind are racist in nature. Large numbers of emmigrants provoking that natural feelings in the society and it contribute to rise of far right. And far right is uncontrollable, it cause unreversable harms. I am not against immigration but it should be kept in control somehow. And also, there were Turks in Bulgaria that flying from Jivkovs policies. Some Turks of Turkey (although it was a very mild opposition) opposed to them. They were Turks, sharing same religion, speaking the same language. No one likes a large number of people to emmigrate into their land. It creates turmoil. My advice would be to educate their children, otherwise Sweeden will see the real rise of crime. Education is a must to avoid the emergence of a new social class from those refugees. If a new class emerges out of them then commiting crime would be more accepted amongst the new class since they would have grow up in a ghetto where all their role models are somehow criminals.

Sadly one form of radicalism gives way to another. People should be treated based on actions and their values, not arbitrary identities, be they of the national majority or some immigrant group. Everyone should conform to universal human moral values and to the working customs/ways of living of the better society/state (usually the one taking in immigrants)

We lost contact with friends and family, and were labeled as far-right racists. Some lost their jobs, and many of us were threatened with losing our jobs. We were kicked off facebook and the newspapers cut out the comment sections because they couldn't stand anyone addressing the issues. The family still keeps their distance from us, but it probably goes both ways, because who can bear hanging out with siblings who have treated you like shit? The friends are long gone, but luckily we have our friends on social media who make life livable. That is, those who still have access to Facebook, which is where people meet.

As I Swede I have to quote Konstantin Kisin, the author of the book 'An immigrant's love letter to the West', when he says; "Not all immigrants are the same." During the 70's we had a huge influx of immigrants from South America because of what was going on there, and we never even noticed these immigrants. They integrated instantly, learned Swedish, worked, took care of themselves and became a part of our society. In the 90's when we got a lot of immigrants from Serbia, Bosnia and old Yugoslavia, most of them went unnoticed into our society, a few of them unfortunately created criminal organizations. But nothing that can even compare to the problems we have gotten from immigrants from the Middle East and Northern Africa, the Islamic countries. They are violent and misogynistic, and they have no intention whatsoever to be a part of our society. They hate the West, they are here with one purpose only and that is to Islamize the West. They try to change our laws, they try to cut into our democracy to bring on Islamic rules in OUR country, they use our tax money to start sharia schools and build mosques. Most of them don't work, they live on welfare. We have over 700 000 immigrants living on welfare, I.E. our tax money, in Sweden. This is not about race, it's about culture. Not all immigrants are the same.

I've been living in copenhagen my whole life and yet I feel much closer to our brothers in norway. We got our own problems with immigrants but in a much smaller scale. Swedish politicians can barely talk about these problems without being afraid of being called racists. If you can't talk openly about the problems in your country, you can't fix it

As an immigrant working and living in Norway, I must say that Sweden surprised me with how easily they granted work permits, permanent residency, and citizenship. In Norway, obtaining a work visa is limited to EU citizens or skilled workers. To secure permanent residency, one needs to undergo a language test and a "Samfunnskunnskap" (social studies) test. Citizenship requires passing a B1 oral language proficiency exam. I have a friend working in Sweden who holds Swedish citizenship, although his Swedish language proficiency is comparable to Tarzan's.

In germany they already made it easier for any immigrant or refugee to get german citizenship in 3 years and they are thinking about making it even easier to "give incentive for integration" wich is so dumb I think and completly backwords, citizenship should be the reward (if wanted) for succesful integration, not the other way around. Basically all of the old main parties somehow didn't have that common sense, that's one of the main reasons, why a new right wing party is growing to be the biggest. I would never vote them, because they don't have a real plan how to solve the problems, but just a new party formed the BSW that I'll vote for.

We've had multiple waves of immigration from the Baltics and Eastern Europe since the 80's. The people from these cultures have done well and are respected by us Swedes, generally speaking at least. But the Muslims have completely ruined everything and most people I know, even immigrants and 2nd generation immigrants are voicing great concerns and discontent for their aggressive ungrateful, disrespectful and deceitful behaviour. In 20 years, a single religious community has destroyed a country that made it through the worst time in history for Europeans, relatively unscathed. But we can't have happy and prosperous people in Europe. So the J*vvs have been working really, really hard to realize the Coudenhove-Kalergi plan and the Warburgs 'One-World-Government by consent or conquest' as Paul put it in his infamous quote.

Mass immigration from different cultures doesn't work. Bad for citizens, bad for migrants. And impossible to finance. Many years warnings were issued, but this was regarded as 'political not correct' Not only Sweden has huge migrant problems. Similar situations in Spain, France, Belgium, Germany, Netherlands, Italy, Greece, Switzerland, Sweden, Denmark, anyways, the whole of the EU except some eastern European countries who's governments were cleverly understanding the danger of mass immigration (but condemned for it) Altogether there are many millions of mostly young Muslim men in Europe. Absolutely spot on. The UK is exactly the same. Immigration only works in a strictly controlled manner and where the incoming assimilate into the cultures and values of the indigenous. In the UK, and almost certainly in all the countries mentioned, the migrants group together and, with ‘white flight’, the area transforms into a migrant community where life is more akin to their country of origin. Economically they are almost certainly a drain on the host country and then we’ve got the other side effects; grooming gangs, drug dealing, etc.

Born and raised in sweden and lived here my entire life. The main problem as a society is that as soon as you critique the immigration policies youre labled a racist. Realize this: It's good to help people. But muslims exploit help they receive for their ideological gains. it is in their belief. Imagine if you are being helped by animals. You will be impressed. But you will still view them as animals. That's how the muslims see people who help them. No matter what, they are the holier people, and deserving of whatever land God has bestowed upon them, according to them.

And then we have the left parties who all have their little niches but are afraid to lose votes by wanting to implent stronger immigration policies. And of course the extremists win who have easy "answers" to extremly complex problems and make it worse for everyone. Just shows how fucked democracy really is with people who are easily manipulated and only think black or white

We are a country of people who have historically emmigrated and integrated into other societies around the world. However, I have a limit. There is only so many people countries like Sweden and Ireland can take in, and the people immigrating here should be those who have gone through the correct procedures to do so. Illegal immigration and those falsely seeking refuge should not be allowed in, and this should not be a controversial opinion. If you say this kind of thing here, you are labelled hateful, a racist, a bigot. I could not speak this feeling at the dinner table with my family. This needs to change. Thoughts with Sweden.

Mosques, temples, synagogues and churches have been built for centuries by religious minorities all over the world, and on the whole the native populations have not had any problem whatsoever with it. I'm going to give my perspective as an immigrant, I'm Chilean and I live in Brazil, I came here as a child for the first time in 1970. I'm also going to give my impression of what's happening in Chile right now. There are bad and good people in every group, and this is a truth that must always be considered! Immigrants have a tendency to seek out and have contact with others of the same nationality, maintaining a cultural bond, but... the immigrant must incorporate himself into the country that welcomed him, understand and accept the local culture, and not want to impose his or her culture (otherwise it is better to return to your country or look for a country with a similar culture). Immigrants should not have the right to vote or be political candidates... I don't consider it right, as there is no guarantee that an immigrant will not try to apply laws that favor their beliefs or their country of origin. Immigrants who do not respect local laws must be deported...! Why do I say all this? Precisely because there are good immigrants who want to work, to be useful to the country that welcomes them, and there are bad immigrants who are criminals or just going to enjoy the advantages that the country offers. I'm not saying that you can't help people, including immigrants, but you have to analyze whether you're really an honest person going through a bad time, or whether you're just someone who tries to take advantage of good citizens. Chile is currently going through a similar situation, with a large population of immigrants (many irregular) who consume State resources and do not contribute to anything... In the north of Chile, prisons contain more than 50% of immigrants, and in Chile, prisoners are not forced to work... The vast majority of land invaders, who demand their own homes, are immigrants... The Chilean State offers everything, but many immigrants believe it is their right to demand and gain all possible benefits, including houses. The big problem is that a society needs people who contribute, and who add behaviors and resources for the well-being of everyone. If a group just gains without giving anything (or very little), the weight falls on those who make an effort. Another point that has not been discussed is ideological, there is migration of people who want to destroy economic systems, cultures, and nations! There is a video of Venezuelan immigrants who call themselves "destroyers of democracies"

I moved to Sweden from England in the mid-1980s. Sweden was an absolute paradise then. Swedish people were friendly and welcoming. The immigrant groups back then were mainly from Finland, Chile, Italy, Turkey and Yugoslavia. Most of us got along fine with each other. Integration was never a big problem. As foreigners and guests in Sweden, we all appreciated the high standard of living, and everything that was good about living here. As a foreigner It just felt right to work and pay taxes into a system that everybody benefitted from. Unfortunately, many of the refugees and immigrants that have recently come to Sweden don't feel this sense of solidarity. They don't want to integrate and have little, or no interest in learning about Swedish culture, values and traditions. This naturally leaves them alienated. Many also have an attitude of entitlement. They expect the Swedish welfare system to take responsibilty for their needs, even though they have never contributed anything towards the welfare system. They would do well to understand that they have been given an opportunity to start new lives in Sweden. My advise to them would be to integrate and be thankful you are here. Instead of turning Sweden into a living hell, learn from earlier Immigrant groups who chose to fit in, and were prepared to help make Sweden a very good place to live.

Sweden has never been safer. The same amount of people in % are dying because of violence as in the 90s. Most causes of deadly violence has decreased. You´d have a much higher risk of dying in a robbery in almost every other year since the 90s. Or getting killed by your spouse- Young men in general are less deadly since the 90s, towards both genders. Immigrants are not the primary suspects for shootings, most of them are darn grateful, The majority of perpetrators of deadly shootings is Swedish born citizens median age 25, with one or two immigrant parents. It usually happens in low income areas, and there have been revenge shootings. But an astounding amount of perpetrators of deadly shootings, say its because of "self defence". because they were scared the other person was gonna shot them first. Statisticly your sons would be in that high risk category of becoming a criminal... I hope you don´t live in a low income area... It´s a social problem, with ostracization of immigrants that has caused their children to feel like outsiders in the country they were born in. 50% of deadly shootings today are criminals killing other members of other criminal groups. bra.se/publikationer.html?sv.url=12.62fc8fb415c2ea1069365674&sv.mode=view&query=*%3A*&100.c4ecee2162e20d258c15578=D%C3%B6dligt%20v%C3%A5ld

Heh. Well. So, I'm an international relations and european politics master's student. I have a teacher who specializes on the immigration crisis and you know, humanitarian ways of dealing with it. In 2013, she went to Bruxelles to present a pretty important paper warning of this but when she got there, she was at first rejected when they found out about her topic and barely managed to present in front of a room filled with both academics and politicians. They didn't boo her or anything when she finished, she just finished in complete and utter silence. No one said anything, there was a questioning time and no one asked any questions. Everyone wanted her off stage for fear of sparking controversy. Well, look where we are now. And she was totally right, and it's not like immigrants will stop coming, and there's probably loads of other academics who don't have their heads stuck up their asses and have warned of this. In fact, she theorizes that the next wave of immigrants will be even worse.

I am a Turkish electrical and electronic engineer living in Sweden. Before coming here, I waited for almost 6 months for the migration process. However, it is very disheartening that skilled workers like us go through these processes, while the country accepts 163,000 refugees in a year without any checks, which can undoubtedly alter the demographic structure. As a result, I came to Sweden and work here as an engineer. I pay my taxes, cover my rent, and spend my earned salary back in this country. I love and respect the Swedish people, their culture, and rules. It's essential to acknowledge and respect them! However, opening their doors to all countries at the time is one of the reasons for the current crime rates and economic issues...

It's not something that can be learned, it will never get back to what it used to be. The reason Sweden was successful was that only Swedes lived there with the same values as everyone else. People who didn't abuse the welfare system, for instance. Who value working hard. Working together to make a strong society. When different groups of people live there with different values, it becomes impossible. Government assistance becomes something that helped out well meaning people to being an unsustainable detriment to workers. Foreigners brought in have no reason not to abuse the system because they have no stake in it and never had a stake in it, assuming they didn't just go to Sweden to abuse it to begin with. This is why the same programs in the US dramatically backfire and are hated by at least half the people, when there is no integration or care for the existing culture and society, social programs can't have positive outcomes because they favor the parasitic and eventually, the entire government is solely ran by parasites, every business is ran by parasites and it's a contest to loot as much as possible from the dying husk of the nation. You're lucky that it might be stopped in Sweden at only 12%, that's recoverable. You're not a dead nation yet like the US or Canada.

I know, the number of people who died of gun violence last year in Sweden was 60 people . The highest on record! To give you an idea of how bad that is, that is how many Americans are killed by guns in almost 12 HOURS! (40,167-were killed in the U.S.A.in 2023.) It is awful that a country would have a gun murder rate equal to 12 hours of life in America. You have to ask yourself, "Why don't they revolt" , what people would excep a annual murder rate that is like being in America for 1/2 day.
@francisdec1615

@@garyspringston You have an agenda. Most people killed by guns in the US commit suicide with their own guns. Next to that it's criminals killed by each other, by the cops or by law-abiding citizens. Very few *innocent* people are killed by guns in the US. And the US has more than 30 times the population of Sweden. So it would be like 900 people or so killed by guns in Sweden, and 3-400 legal gun owners in Sweden DO shoot themselves every year, which is of course not included here. And speaking of guns: we used to have no gun law in Sweden at all. The murder rate back then was just a fracture of what it is today, because guns won't magically shoot innocent people. Bad people with bad intentions shoot innocent people. Of course, the politicians won't make it easier for law-abiding people to own guns or let people carry guns, because then law-abiding people could actually defend themselves against criminal rapefugees.

Francis, I am not anti gun. I am for the right to have arms, in America and all places. And yes I have an agenda, that I share with you. But not an anti-gun one. Rather I contest how people sensationalize their positions with selective information. We live in a time dominated by the mindless exchange of propaganda. When you report that Sweden is plagued with murder, that needs to be placed alongside the fact that it is among the safest places on the planet. This is what I attempted to call out. There is an "implied" bond between violence and immigration .In America our immigration, (legal and illegal) has risen year over year over the last few years, yet crime has declined. The reason this is important to me is because we can not truly confront the issues of our day by disseminating information that is reductionist. The crisis facing the West is astounding, immigration just a tip of that iceberg. Underneath lay a host of issues: lack of faith in democracy, isolation + alienation, transfer of wealth to top small%, a defining war in Europe, and a list you won't need me to recount. In Sweden. If you say that being a Swede MEANS something or that we have a specific Swedish CULTURE, and especially if you try and VALUE the meaning and culture - you will be called RACIST and non-inclusive to immigrants and other cultures. Let that sink in.

Yes I believe you... there is so many brainwashed swedes... they are very afraid to be called racist, they are also afraid to show their own culture or their own flag to don´t be called racist. In fact what is racism? to love your own country? ... I can´t call that for racism. Swedes are afraid of everything and want to avoid any confrontations. And... most of the time they hide in their own shell. I think it is time to act.

I was born in 1988 and i remember my parents telling me about Swedish ways and how much respect and love they had for Swedish people and their system. Now all these years later i am watching this video and think to myself how many people just took that kindness and used it to the point of no return. It's so wrong it hurts me. It pains every sense of humanity i posses. Absolutely new level of kindness being mixed for stupidity. I am sorry for you Sweden you dont deserve this. And my dream to move to Sweden one day because of all my parents stories is somewhere dead too, for how much i dont wish them another migrant or immigrant. I love you Sweden eventho i never went there, and i wish you to step back on your feet and feel 100% as you should. Much love and remember, there are alot of people around the world who appreciate and respect your national values, origins and culture to the point where they would step on your side all the way if needed.

I personally know a Syrian man who has lived most of his life in Ukraine. In 2013, he pretended to be a victim of the Syrian war to seek refuge in Sweden. Because of this lie, the authorities gave him a free three-bedroom apartment in Västervik. This seems both dishonest and opportunistic.

There are literally tens of thousands like your guy in SWE and millions in Europe. The blame is all with the leftist leadership. They did the most harm to Europe after WWII with these policies and the damage is long lasting.

Even here in northern Iraq (Kurdistan) they are being opportunistic, I know alot of Syrians that get paid monthly a good amount of money without even working, which lot of people need here, they can study in the best university in the country (AUIS) for free which I can’t ,I can talk about how shitty most of the syrian immigrants are till tomorrow but it won’t change anything unfortunately.

Since there are a lot of likes here, I can give more details: upon his arrival in Syria, the authorities put him in a dormitory, fed him and paid money every month. With this money after 9 months he bought a gray used Skoda wagon. The authorities later called him and asked what color wall he preferred. When he first came to new apartment, his name was already written on the mailbox. Guy's name is Hassan Makhmoud. He still lives in Västervik.
