In Bangladesh people of different religions stay side by side. We have holidays for occasions of every religion. There are no discriminations because of religion. I am a Muslim and I have Hindu, Christian and Budhdhist friends here. We have mosques, temples, churches in almost every cities. Mosques are more in number as 80% people are muslim. But 2nd most believed religion here is Hinduism. Everyone is given equal opportunities. Even govt has given more quotas in educational institutions for tribal people living in hilly areas because they don't have equal facilities there because of their environment.

But yes there’s no difference between a Hindu Muslim Buddhist or Christian in Bangladesh, I have never heard in my life anyone ever asking a new person about his or her religion. That’s not even an issue in Bangladesh at all. There’s no majority or minority here based on religion here in our Day to day life. People might want to know he’s from which part of Bangladesh so we know their language and nature but never religion. It doesn’t cross the mind of a Bengali in Bangladesh at all. People of every religion will face difficulties that a human society with its imperfections face. Not depending on religion. It’s never a topic at all amongst friends while you Indians are too worried to know religion of a person before you can freely interact. Get out of those propaganda pieces and if you don’t believe then come and spend some time in Bangladesh and see for yourself if anyone bothers about your religion even once then tell me. NB: we can’t even identify religion of many friends Bcoz a lot of people have Bengali names and any religion can have Bengali names. It’s a very different culture here that you won’t understand.

In our Munshiganj district, out of three MPs, two were Hindu MPs, currently one has been elected and is a central secretary of the Awami League. He arranged and played dhol or dhak at four side ( East,,West, north and south) three days and three nights.After that day native started to call Dhaka , not from dhakeshwari temple.
