It's good to warm up your knees first. Slight bend with knees touching as you stand and draw circles at least 10 circles in each direction It's a common warm up martial arts.

Even being from India .I started doing this exercises 35 years ago without any right knowledge and this exercises was considered outdated then.That time western exercises were considered more beneficial and neglected this.Now i realized this two exercises are all that I need for my mental and physical well being thanks to youtube and technology.

Wonderful. I'm glad I could help you appreciate the treasures in your own culture. Every morning I practice Buddhist meditation, Hindu squats and Hindu pushups, then take amla, curcuma, and tea. शुक्रिया भारत !!

I feel like I can benefit from this training as well. With the added archer banded pull apart using resistance bands I could do my calisthenics at ease daily.

Awesome, glad it helped! If you've built up your Hindu squats and Hindu pushups to a decent number (like 100 squats 50 pushups) then yes it's a good idea to complete with a pulling motion. I personally do chinups, keeping a 4:2:1 ratio between squats:pushups:chinups. Those are the only three exercises I do in the morning. Right now I'm doing 140:70:35. It takes me less than 30 minutes and it feels great.

How many of these do you do daily?
@mentalhealthrevolution9366
@mentalhealthrevolution9366 2 жыл бұрын
Hi there! We're each different, and I think that more important than aiming for a particular number is to understand the progressive overload principle. If we don't use our body enough, we stagnate or regress, but if we use it too much, we'll get hurt. So it's about staying at the edges of our comfort zone in order to slowly extend it. This will mean a different number of reps for different people. This being said, now I personally do 140 Hindu squats, 70 Hindu pushups, and 35 chin-ups every morning. Takes me less than 30 min and it seems enough for me to feel healthy and strong enough so I'm not planning on increasing the number of reps in the near future. It took me 2 years to slowly build to this number of reps. But again, everyone is different, so really it's about you, how you feel, and what you want to achieve. 🙏

Do you do this number of reps in one go or do you split it up? I am doing 10 sets of 20 hindu squats and 10 hindu push up daily at the moment. Adding pull-ups would probably be a good idea… thank you for your work! I really like the arm swinging!

I learned about these exercises from Bruce Lee's book, then Matt Furey's. I also watched all the videos I could find on the subject, and after practicing them for a few years, I show the way I like to practice them. Matt Furey has his own channel if you prefer to learn from him kzbin.info/www/bejne/rnXKg4qcbtF8i5o. Enjoy your day.

@mentalhealthrevolution9366 Жыл бұрын
Hi, I count reps, not time. I started super low (maybe 10 squats 5 pushups) but made a point of doing them every day. Then I increased the number of reps extremely gradually. Now I'm doing 156 squats and 78 pushups (also 39 chinups). I'll try to get to 200-100-50.

Hi Robert, you're doing dive-bomber pushups then. People often confuse the two because they're so similar, but as I said in the video in the Hindu pushup our hips go straight back in the air. I don't have enough experience with dive-bomber pushups and am not qualified to comment on which is better. You may like to look for experts' take on this, including Matt Furey's article mattfureysays.com/blogs/articles/hindu-push-ups-v-dive-bomber-push-ups-which-is-better

Yes my heels never touch the ground, to make the exercise a little bit more difficult. But if that's an issue for you you can start feet flat, and don't have to do the tiny jump. :)
