Hinge seemed frustrating when I was setting it up but I think it slows things down intentionally. It’s not just “liking” someone so you have to be more interactive. I think tinder wore out it’s welcome because ppl just use it for validation. All you have to do is swipe which doesn’t take more than a second. Hinge you have to specify like something about their profile and can comment on it. Tinder you have to pay a good chunk of change just to be noticed.

I'm having better luck with the free version of Hinge than I am with other apps I've paid for. TBO I was about to give up on Hinge. It seemed like EVERY girl was like a perfect 10, lawyer/doctor, and a degree from an Ivy League school. I spent a week or so just Xing all of them out and not even sending any messages or likes. Now all the girls that pop up are solid 7s and 8s and very much in my league. The app obviously puts all of its hottest women first.

What if you don't want to send a person a notification at that very moment by liking them, but you also don't want to hit the x and never get the chance to like them at another time? There's no way to just browse through profiles?

Swiping left doesn't mean they're gone forever I believe - if they liked you they'll prolly pop up again. But also, they only get a notification if they already liked you so that's a good indicator they won't mind the notification! I know diving in also might be a bit overwhelming knowing all these people can now see you liking them, but just remember they are doing the exact same thing. So do your best to remember that this is what online dating is all about, yes it might take some getting used to, but the sooner you embrace it completely, the easier it will be!

From my opinion on Hinge than other dating apps is that it seems more reliable than any other Ive used. Being able to send an intro is a big help too. Even if you look average, you can send a really nice pickup line or something like that to introduce your personality which betters your chances. Out of all the dating apps Ive used, Hinge has given me the most results.

At least you met someone. I am a 21 year old guy who never had a girlfriend before and I had been using tinder and Hinge for 5 months and got only 3 matches on tinder and 8 matches on Hinge so far. My tinder matches never replied to me whereas my Hinge matches do reply a bit and end up ghosting me. Most of my matches are 18-22 year old girls and idk why they all ghost me. I just got matched today by a girl on Hinge who is also 21 and really pretty but she only replied to my comment on her prompt and after that no reply to my last message.
