Xigbar/Luxus plot twist was superbly handled in my opinion, so much build up even in character bios . For example In kh2 it references how he has his own agenda. I still don't believe nomura planned this out 100%, but he always wanted good ol' xiggy to have a bigger role, and he did a fine job. Another notable thing being he was the one who recruited Marly to the org, who'd he'd absolutely be aware of. So you win this round nomura

11:41 More than anything THIS moment set off so many alarms. The whole 'Olympus' scene went right over my head during my first playthrough but that "death scene" didn't. I even told me brother right after "He's not dead. No one is dead unless you see a body." I just didn't think that he was Luxu.

Also, I think it is interesting to note that in KHII:FM Xigbar says he found and recruited Marluxia/Lauriam. In fact, the entire conversation he has with Zexion is interesting now. He really is always watching. And there is a tiny moment in 358/2 Days that didn’t make the movie cut where Xigbar is listening in on a conversation between Xion and Axel in which Xion finds a boy who looks just like Roxas in Castle Oblivion (aka Ventus).

Xigbar told the other founders that he had been body hopping over the centuries. He probably gave xehanort the keyblade and then transferred to the body he has as Braig somewhere later down the line.

There is a theory that Braig is still somewhat conscious while Luxu controls his body in a similar way that Terra is still conscious to an extent while Xehanort is controlling his body, and it's actually Braig speaking that line about Luxu. Which would be somewhat interesting if it holds any water.

I actually checked and saw that the model for ventus in kh ux doesnt have the icon the bbs trio shares, while in days, xion/ventus form has one so... ya Also, the fact that xigbar was promised to be bequeathed a keyblade was his plot point in bbs. Thats the reason he fake fighted terra and risked his life.

Him possessing other people’s bodies does go along with his reaction towards Xehanort too. He was pissed that Xehanort caused him to lose his eye so he tried to attack him out of anger. This type of behavior can be compared to when a person gets pissed when their car gets wrecked by someone else, especially if it was a brand new car. Luxu likely just got a new body (that being Braig’s) so he was pissed Xehanort caused it to be damaged.

Shade Lol The game came out before bbs so the designs weren't finalized. You guys are looking way too into this. It's a retcon and a bad one at that, everything regarding Xehanort was at least hinted on, Xigbar talking others and seeing Ventus was hinting at bbs, Xehanort body possession and Xigbar's eye changing from brown to yellow hinted on on why Saix had yellow eyes in kh2 and days and why he wasn't acting friendly toward Axel in days and it made sense when they both came back in dream drop, and even nobodies growing hearts was hinted in days. But Kh3 just threw all of that out the window, and I can give 2 example that proof Nomura didn't plan this out, first is Xemnas in dream drop saying most of the original organization members weren't fit for the new one because weakness of body, will and trust which pretty much covers everyone who isn't norted like Saix and Xigbar. And the 2nd one that Braig's eyes were brown originally plus let himself be norted and be at the mercy of Xehanort, not that being norted means shit anyways, in kh3 I mean, in dream drop Xigbar said it was scary how Xehanort could see into his mind so his plans was being carried out even though he wasn't even "alive" and Saix was a complete zombie but kh3 even though everyone is norted everyone just did whatever they want even betrayed Xehanort and he let them which was retarded and goes against what was established, Xehanort should've seen all this coming. I love Xigbar and he is my 2nd org member after Xemnas but that plot twist bullshit on top of all the bullshit kh3 threw at us.

as for xigbar's theme I think it was remixed to create a sense of danger. you know, for atmospheric reasons. roxas' theme has been changed several times to create different moods. at the end of the day, it was a good catch regardless. I can neither confirm nor deny this point.

I think the MoM and the foretellers are going to try and destroy darkness. One line from him made me think about it, when he was talking to young Xehanort he said “I could tell you I dream of world peace, when I’m really planning it’s destruction” that and paired with him refusing to take off his black coat, I think he’s trying to make sure the light perseveres and darkness dies.

Whenever I saw the Xigbar death scene after seeing the epilogue, I realized that the "old coot" he was referring to was not, in fact, Xehanort as we and Sora and Riku were led to believe. Rather, he was talking about MoM. And that also makes the line, "Why else would I put up with all his nonsense?" fit even more considering MoM's personality.

I like how out of everybody's character designs, Braig/Xigbar is the only one missing an eye. A the Master of Masters had also used one of his eyes on No Name. Maybe Xigbar is following in the footsteps of the Master of Masters, or there is something afoot. For the scene right before his KH2 boss fight, the Luxu reveal also makes one more thing there make since. If he was solely on Xeanort's plan, why bother eliminating those heartless stockpiling Sora? Either Sora kills them and Kingdom hearts gets more complete, or they strike down Sora and they have one less pain in the neck. Now that we have a clue as to what his own agenda was and that he likely needed to Sora up and still around for it (maybe to eliminate Xeanort), him taking out the heartless and then "fighting" Sora (really just putting on a show to make it seem more believable that he wants to get rid of Sora), makes a bit more since.

I wonder when Xigbar called Sora "Traitor" that it was also double meaning..? Of course, thinking about it would lead to Xigbar calling out Roxas' betrayal to the Organization...but what if Xigbar was speaking deeper than that? The people in Sora's heart that we know of are Ventus and Roxas. Xigbar is of course known to call out names 'outside their frames' due to underlying meaning, so what if there is another person in Sora's heart that is from the KHuX age? I think Ventus being inside Sora's heart is a clue to the Master's plan rather than a sign that he is the traitor. Rewatching the series got me thinking how would Luxu know that Sora was the right boy to manipulate to send to Shibuya? Well, if he saw a Nobody that looked like one of the Union Leaders instead of the original form, that would be a huge clue. I think, because of the "traitor that bears the sigil" thing, he thought that Skuld was the traitor, if she is Subject X, or even Luxord, that is number X in the organization.

I think the links to chi are a bit of a stretch (over both of your videos) while yes Luxu could've known about Lauriam and that is why he chose Marluxia, I don't think he had any connection to Ventus before BBS (until it is explicitely shown in future UX updates) since Luxu's role was to just observe the world, probably at the very least until the first keyblade war and until he finds someone suitable to inherit MoM's keyblade, then he can become an active charactely, as Braig A reason for this is exactly the line he gives to Ven of "thinking he is a full fledged weilder now" since if he had interacted with him in Chi time he would've met him as a Dandellion, who no doubt were top notch fighters, that is why he only met him in the BBS era where he is severely weakened, enough for him to mock Ven during their fight And about his line to Sora I think the "heroes" he refers are just the BBS trio since they were fighting for the greater good (even terra at the end) and being trained for that purpose, and wearing keyblade armor, would look more heroic The unions (that includes dandellions & foretellers) in Chi while good at first end up wrapped in chaos and fighting each other for control and causing the Keyblade war itself, not very Heroic, even if you were to say that the Dandellions weren't that selfish, their main mission was to escape the fight and live on,again, not an "heroic" action

Wait, if Xigbar set Xehanort's plans into motion, then Luxu would have had to have met him earlier in life, probably before he was Braig. Check out the trailer for Re:mind. It shows young Xehanort, silver-eyes and all, meeting with a man in a black coat. I thought it was the Master of Masters, but what if it was Luxu? What if he realized Xehanort would likely receive No Name from his master and set him on the path of darkness? And saying "Why else would I ever put up with all his nonsense?" What if he ended up not liking Xehanort, so wanted to take back his Keyblade to give to someone he felt was better suited? That would explain why he got personally involved rather than observing from afar like was planned.

Never noticed that was a remix theme in DDD, but I also thought it was to build excitement of nearing the end of the game. Also in that game, forgive me if you mentioned this in the original vid you did, but when he sees Sora with all his friends in a vision, that could be him envisioning the future, with him being Luxu & having the ability to see through time. Also I think the suspicious scene cut off at the end of Olympus was to cue in Luxord coming in as seen in the ReMIND DLC trailer. It is crazy to think Nomura planned this out all the way back.

All the Organisation members had the organisation theme in their respective musics in KH 2 / CoM etc so anyone who listen's to Xigbar thinks its because he is member of the Organisation.

If you think about it, Xigbar never really died in KH3, he only fell back and dropped his weapons, which is probably why Xehanort had to strike down Kairi.

Not really, no. The "Organisation XIII" is made up of 13 darknesses that's why he needed 13 keyblades including himself. If you think about it, there's actually an inconsistency even if you are counting that Xigbar died and made a keyblade. Because when Master Xehanort killed Kairi he had 12 Keyblades, all 12 except himself and hence killed Kairi to make the 13th That means Xigbar did die, that's all well and good except there should only have been 11 keys not 12 because Xion, a member of "Organisation XIII" never actually died. Anyway, that aside he killed Kairi to get the 13th key otherwise he himself would have had to die to make the 13th and that means Xigbar did die and come back, most probably the same way other lost masters came back.

*Making a lot of assumptions right now, I called it months before KH3 came out, my buddy was pissed cuz he didn't believe me.* If you go back to older games, all the hints become very obvious, but you could tell he was meant to stick out and he's never been on any definite side.

Nomura *was* making it up as he went along. It wasn't until BBS that a larger narrative was formed. Old interviews indicate this. In game info also supports this. Even still, the KHx stuff was written was later.

Spoiler for the ReMind trailer: Luxord is the one peice Xigbar/Braig/Luxu doesn't have any idea who he is or what he's actually up to. Which honestly, ups Luxord's awesomeness in my humble opinion. And Luxord is just playing along with whatever happens to be going on, playing dumb for reasons known only to him. Also, Xigbar in Olympus, the first scene, he knew what would happen to Sora at the end. I'm not entirely sure how mind, but listen to what he says when he meets the group. It's almost word for word about what happens at the end of the game. Maybe Sora is related to that one missing Foreteller? Maybe Luxord is MoM? What's in the booox?

I noticed the fact that Xigbar's theme in DDD shares its leitmotif with Organization XIII, but my biggest question with it was why was Xigbar so significant to get his own theme. Axel has appeared in all but two of the games and never got a theme, whereas Xigbar appeared less. The fact that he's actually Luxu makes it make sense

Xigbar's theme sounding like Organization XIII's theme isn't a hint towards Luxu at all. Not even a tiny bit. There's no thread there. He's in the Org, it's a connection between him and the Org. Still, among all this. I'm realizing I don't have a reason to care. Why do I care about Xigbar being Luxu? Up to this point neither entities have done anything of merit. Luxu has literally done nothing and we don't know his purpose. Xigbar, up to this point, has just been an average boss to defeat with meaningless dialogue. It's all great if in the *next game* he does things but in all other media reveals like this usually are important because the character(s) in question have already had an impact.

The thing I noticed in birth by sleep was the original time meeting "him" when he had the master tied up and fought Terra. His eyes were a different color. They didn't be the yellow we always see until we see him again about to fight aqua. Think he hadn't yet taken the body of the original braig till sometime after the original fought Terra.

7:06 I noticed now that Xigbar and the other members of XIII talks to Sora like they knew Roxas and are familiar with souls getting into other bodies and retain their previous life information. Looking back at it, it seems like Sora / Roxas is the anomaly to this cause. From the beginning he seems lost, and because we are experiencing the story from his perspective and subsequently being fed his thought process as cannon, were led to believe that the XIII is trying to trick SORA to joining the XIII. While it is their plan to have their 'Chosen Keyblade wielder" back, all of the other members, besides Xehanort, were just seeing their old comrade back after the event and having a piece of mind with him about his betrayal. Xemnas on the other hand, knows the loss of Roxas and talks in a way directly to Sora, but never seem to adress him as ROXAS or the other one like the other members of the organization do.

So being 100% with you. Luxu/zigbar is like even deeper than this. See my theory is that he is the master of masters. Has time travel abilities hence the fade away part. He did what xehanort did separated his soul in the box. 1 fragment per key blade wielder 1 to his key blade And luxu was tasked to pass on the key blade in order to oversee his plans closely. But luxu and the masters are just a early separation between the masters nobody and his heartless. Both carrying the robe of darkness. Also note the phrase may your heart be your guiding key. Guiding key- your heart is in it.- master of masters heart is in the blade with the eye. His nobody - zigbar - luxu- says he casted his form long ago. Aka became zigbar to push thru time to keep writing the book of prophesies. Thus his true form is resided in the ability to transform like terra,aqua and ven can. But his form is the blade itself. And after the blade absorbing kingdom hearts energy, can give him a form past that attained by xehanort. But luxu still needs to gather his 7th- his heartless. Who might be trapped in the box itself. And he could have been carrying the secret, the heartless , the first heartless.

Xigbar is an amazing character and I really believe that, but my issue is with Tetsuya's storytelling methods. You can tell from early on Xigbar is a devious person with a bit of mystery than he cares to let on. But the story gives you no REAL evidence as to why or what he's doing and then in KH 3 all of a sudden he's Luxu. I'm not opposed to this reveal, in fact I love that he is Luxu, it's just that most of the "hints" that he is Luxu come in X and KH 3. Which feels like sloppy storytelling. I think the biggest quote most all of us overlooked was from KH 2 when he says "You don't look like you're half the hero the others were." but even then you can disprove that Nomura knew what he was doing with Braig by his role in Birth By Sleep. At the context of the time the quote is clearly a nod to whats to come in BbS and in Birth by Sleep we hardly have any strong evidence to even support the KH X timeline. Its just all so shoehorned and sloppily put together after KH 2 and it makes me reject what the series has become despite the amazing characters he created. It feels like he uses "mystery" and "reveals" as a device to cover his ass pulls. Especially in titles after KH 2... And that is my frustration with this series thus far I hope you enjoyed haha and I welcome any other perspectives on this.

Well I'm not sure this is a mentioning but it regard the epilogue of KH3. When Ira look down at the No Name Keyblade, it help him recognize that Xigbar is Luxu despite the fact that Luxu wasn't supposed to reveal it to anyone and the only person who saw it was Ava as she was aware of Luxu's mission. I felt that the epilogue withhold more information and laid out the works for future spin off games like why Luxu spared Subject X and what mission Ava had that Luxu mentioned that sounded like she had more to do than form the Dandelions. Hopefully in Kingdom Hearts Union X Cross we get more answers

Plenty of people were theorizing Xigbar/Braig's identity before KH3 came out. Lot's of people thought he was MoM, but some thought he was was Luxu (I was in the latter camp). So the reveal wasn't that surprising to me (still hype though). And I'm surprised you didn't include Xigbar's first conversation with Sora in KH2. His words are funnily ironic in hindsight (which makes me think Nomura might have had an idea about Xigbar's role from early on).

Also Braig and Demyx refers to Sora as the Traitor. This is when Ventus is with Sora still. Also Ventus always gives Braig a glare that he knows. I honestly think that Ventus is the second Traitor. But there is stuff with Brain, I'm behind on Union cross so not sure on that one completely
