Fundamentals: • rounding and arching • knowing how to use the hips synchronously • head over foot • explored posterior & anterior chain • backwards walking • forwards walking with a tyre Massive. Profoundly massive. My entire running and life have shifted profoundly in the past few months working with the Innerunner Community and your work, Lawrence. The layers of self discovery that are embedded in my tissues are surfacing. My programming emotionally is disintegrating paving way to power in being exactly who I am, on the trails, and dancing through life. Bless you ❤️

I have been stuck with hip drop for years (probably at least five). I have had a lot of people throw different things at me. None of it has worked. I shared a video of me running with Lawrence. He pegged instantly the things they had me work on and how it was holding me back. I have jumped from thing to thing to add and make more complex; I'm guilty of being impatient (Feel good just to admit it). Now I work with the rope each morning after doing some reading. All very calming. I'm still stuck at the moment but hopeful that I'll slowly make some progress out of it by trusting in the process. It's hard to repattern after years, but I need it to be more efficient in mountain ultras. Thanks for putting these videos up. I'm confident that one day I will be able to accept into my running.

Intuitively your approach resonates. It’s foreign and difficult to trust due to the volume of staccato preachers. Thank you for sharing what you do. I’ve dabbled with your techniques and struggle to make the transition to natural running. Will endeavor to persevere

Walk backwards a lot will help

Yes, i incorporate backwards walking within my walks. As soon as i have the thought of walking backwards, Body does a massive happy sigh that my voice expresses. When i then go to walk forward again, the trauma patterning and jerks is massive. 👍

I am a swimmer. You are the first person to describe freestyle as a Waltz! It is! I worked on getting that flow rope feel into my run this morning, and I immediately smiled. Keep on keeping on. Thank you, as always.

Great as always mate. For the first time a few weeks ago when I was asked if I'm a runner I said yes, rather than I'm a person who likes running but running doesn't like me. Shape flow and musicality unlocked a lot of joy.

I’m so glad I’ve come across your teachings here. They’ve been extremely helpful. The left side of my body became very tight with hip drop 6 weeks ago where I could not run anymore, cramped calves, glute med and peroneus. I got onto the step ups and band work but it’s the flow rope, walking backwards which has allowed me to finally start having some pain free runs. It’s early days and along road ahead but it’s become fun again. ❤

Love these videos! I have had spondylolisthesis for 40 years and have definitely been guarding my hips and low back causing my run to be very stiff and uncomfortable. The exercises you show have definitely been helping loosen up my run! Thanks for doing these videos!

Thanks. Have loved your videos. Would love an online course or seminar. Struggled with sciatica for months and the neural and deural release and nerve flossing really helped. Started walking backwards and some flow rope and my walking seems easier and more powerful. Now trying to transition to my running. Low back pain is gone! Gained alot of mobility in my pelvis. Thank you!

I've rather a stiff and a bit crooked spine due to a inflammatory rheumatism from years ago. To get the fluidity in can be a challenge. But I'm trying to improve my running and moving by flowroping and walking backwards. Before I run I do the awesomizer as part of a warmup. Thanks for sharing and showing all your insights. It is really fun to try to executed the right moves. It's like dancing.

When i do the knee forward to lift hip while lying exercise - one side works okay but the other side is like a brick wall and doesn't move? No pain or anything. Just doesnt appear to work the same way... Is that related to my one sidedness perhaps?.(which is on the other side to the hip i am trying to raise) Keep up the great work! Amazing times we live in that us average people can access such expert knowledge😊👌
@LawrencevanLingen8 ай бұрын
You probably want to keep practicing. Keep alternating sides (do 2 rounds of 8 or so in each side daily and the left side should join in)

Lawrence, I found your channel via Floris Gierman. On Strava today there was a new upload on 4 drills you recommend. What you are putting out seems very helpful, I’m intrigued. My challenge is to assess how I’m actually moving versus how I think I’m moving. Older runner with some arthritis so I think I could benefit from optimizing my running form. I’ll start with some of the drills and see how it goes. Thank you for what you do. 😀🏃♂️

The 36 muscles I’m realizing are stuck somewhere because I’m fused at my bra line years of being stuck up there are messing with movement in hips. But years of being used to that restriction is going to take a awhile! Thanks every intuitive I’ve been trying to open up but not really getting it on my own can’t wait for the smile!

there's a video on the path project channel where Lawrence explains the reasons for tyre walking
@LawrencevanLingen7 ай бұрын
Hi John the walking the Tyre and how to is not yet public. It differs from sled pull in that you are walking upright and relaxed in a way that encourages relaxed and open hip and pelvis function. E-mail me at Lawrence at innerunner dot com
