This is from Death Magnetic (2008), an underrated album that has widely been described as the band returning to a more thrash sound after experimental albums from the mid 90s until mid 2000s

Yeah, I've seen 200+ live bands (most were metal and rock) over the years and I saw Metallica several times in concert over the years. To this day, the best concert I EVER saw was Metallica in 1989 on the Damaged Justice Tour. Amazing show and I will never forget it. *EDIT: By the way, Mollyboy, if you want a taste of that 1989 tour, check out the Seattle 1989 show... the entire concert is on KZbin. Great call 🤟. One of my favourite Metallica songs, the way it builds is just awesome. As others don't discount their later works, yes it will be slower (age comes to us all) but still heavy. Spit out the bone is fantastic from the hard wired to self destruct album. That too has 5 crackers on it 👌

If you like Metallica, you should react to music from all of their albums. People who tell you to only react to the first four albums may only like that particular style of music. If you listen to them, you might be depriving yourself of a lot of songs you might love. In addition, you'll miss out on experiencing the evolution of Metallica's sound. Personally, they are my favorite band of all time and have been for the 40 years I've been alive. All their albums aren't thrash metal, but in my opinion, that is what separates them from other metal bands. They play the music they want to play.

Death Magnetic is so underrated. I'm happy to see you finally do a reaction to a Mexico 2009 video. I've been a fan since the early 2000s but became borderline obsessed after watching this and the Quebec Magnetic dvd. You could do a reaction to this whole show but more notably you've gotta check out Disposable Heroes, One, Fight Fire with Fire and Ride the Lightning. Also I noticed in your live Master of Puppets react you thought the video was sped up. That's just how they play live, fast and vicious! Keep up the great reacts 🤘

The last 3 albums starting with this one (Death Magnetic) seems to be the “Benjamin Button” effect…they’re aging backwards! They’re hitting their 60’s now. But seeing what Judas Priest has been up to with Halford in his 70’s makes me think Metallica won’t be going away anytime soon.

Anyone trying to restrict you from certain albums should be ignored, you won't know if it's your cup of tea until you hear it. This song rules and Death Magnetic is awesome. 🤘 Some other recommended songs off the album "That Was Just Your Life", "End of the Line", "Cyanide", "The Day that Never Comes" and "The Unforgiven III". As for the heaviness, closer "My Apocalypse" is clearly a Slayer homage.

You're in for a treat when you react to this entire album, "Death Magnetic" and "Beyond Magnetic" which contains 4 songs they recorded for "Death Magnetic", but didn't make the cut list. IMO, all the "Beyond Magnetic" songs should have been on "Death Magnetic".

Molly Boy yank here from across the pond as I told you a few weeks ago, in your comments section. Don't let the haters poison your mind on about what Metallica's sound is. Now I've covered them all the way from Kill-em- All to 72 seasons, which is their current album, They've been rocking for over 40 years. They're probably making reference to their album, saint Anger, which had the most horrendous engineering and mixing of any album I've ever heard in my life. They've got lars drum kit sounding like one of those drum kits you buy for a little kid from Fisher price toys. But other than that, if you ever listen to any interviews with the band they will tell you they write what they like. They compose what they like, they play what they like if you like it great if you don't fine but let me throw this out to you like I have before. These guys are now in their 60s and they're still selling out arenas and stadiums around the world, what does that tell you? Molly boy, it tells you, this band isn't just epic, they're legendary, and they've set the bar so high that these people are spoiled. No, they didn't sell out they decided at some point you have to be commercially viable to put food in your stomach and a roof over your head and not live on ramen sandwiches and cardboard boxes in the back of a Van. That's what happens so hang in there. You're doing a good job, this is yank. Love the reactions.

This is off Death Magnetic. Probably the next best album after Ride the Lightning, Master of Puppets, And Justice for All, and the Black album. In my opinion, it was a return to their earlier sound. Metallica did a trilogy of Unforgiven songs spread across 3 different albums. Unforgiven 3 is on Death Magnetic, and i think it is the best song of the trilogy BUT, i think you should listen to all 3 in order. Other good songs from that album are "That was just your life", "The day that never comes" and "Cyanide"

I'm as die hard of a MetallicA fan as the ones who purchase every concert ticket, wait at every show to get autographed pics and albums, etc. There are only 2 albums that I have had issue with. One of albums are St Anger and the other is LuLu, their collaboration with Lou Reed. Which isn't actually a MetallicA album. There are songs off of St Anger that I regularly listen to. Frantic, Dirty Window (Especially the recent live versions of both of those songs) The Unnamed Feeling, Invisible Kid, and Sweet Amber. Now there is a different version of All Within My Hands from that album that is waaaaay better than the album version. It was recorded during the S&M² recording. And as far as LuLu goes? I listen to the "No Lou" version. It's nothing but the riffs from that collaboration. Nothing against Lou Reed. He was a genius in his own right. And alot of people respected him, especially the guys from MetallicA. The sign of a great band is that they can last a very long time (MetallicA has been doing this for over 40 years), they weather the bad press, and hate ( Load/Reload, losing Jason Newsted, Napster situation, St Anger, and LuLu) I could list a couple of other things that could have totally destroyed the band. These guys have dealt with alot of tragedy also! And when people tell you not to listen to something? That usually means to listen to it and decide for yourself. I love this band, and have for 40 years of my life.

This is from the Death Magnetic album it’s a sick song with sick everything. Metallica are on fire while performing live. Mate haters just want to hate Metallica just won the grammies for the last album so let them say what they want Metallica is the standard and the bar 🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽

@@mattblatchley2061 We'll give Lulu a pass, since it wasn't truly a Metallica album.

This album coming out after St. Anger was mind blowing to me. I just started branching out into harder metal at the time (Pantera, Machine Head, etc) and then this dropped from one of my favourite bands of all time. I don't know where they harnessed the creative and physical energy to pull off this masterpiece (yes, I said it) of an album, but it's so unlike anything they've ever done before and ever done since. Edit: I really hope you do more reactions from Death Magnetic, because there are some absolute slammers on that album that Metallica purists seem to just ignore. They might not be classic "Metallica" but they are incredible tracks that opened the doors for me to extreme metal. Which I hope you can get into at some point. You're definitely open to it.

Death Magnetic is probably my most listened to album by metallica. I frequently revisit this song live. I've never heard this preformance tho, I usually listen Nimes '09

Don't let other people gatekeep you from music. Listen to all their music and albums so you can have your own opinions on what albums you like or don't like.
