Billy Corgan is not only the lead singer, he can play any of the instruments, he writes all of the lyrics and puts together the musical compositions. He has written songs for other musicians. His voice is one of those "love it or hate it" kind of voices, but I absolutely love it ❤ This song, 1979, is supposed to make you have that feeling of nostalgia.

Back in my day (the 80s in Ontario, Canada), we had lots of house parties. On one occasion, a friend's party did get crashed, and shit got crazy. A suburban house packed with mostly strange kids from different schools, all food and booze consumed, holes punched in the wall, couples in each bedroom, back door ripped off and passed through the house, random stuff tossed in the pool, and (this still sticks with me) four men in their 40s sitting on the sofa smoking cigars! We had no idea who they were. My friend eventually called the police themselves, and when the cops pulled up the flood of people out the doors and over the back fence, it was like something from a movie. Good times, good times. (Well, not for my friend when their parents got home.) Great tune, great reaction. Thanks for the nostalgia hit, man.😃
The drinking age was 18 for us in 1980…..we partied EVERY weekend and had DROWN NIGHT at the bar every Weds. night…pay 5.00 to get in..all the beer you could drink. We danced and drank til 2AM…..It was the best time….no cell phones, no internet……home phones and actual dates…NO BS❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

In 1980, I had a high school graduation party in my back yard. My parents went out for the evening. My friend's band played, and covered The Beatle's Abbey Road album and Blue Oyster Cult's song "Burning for You". Cops came 3 times asking us to break it up, but mom and dad were home for the 3rd visit, and convinced the cops to let the band finish the set in exchange for the band cutting the volume from 11 down to about 8.
