Billy Corgan is not only the lead singer, he can play any of the instruments, he writes all of the lyrics and puts together the musical compositions. He has written songs for other musicians. His voice is one of those "love it or hate it" kind of voices, but I absolutely love it ❤ This song, 1979, is supposed to make you have that feeling of nostalgia.

Billy Corgan's voice can be divisive. Some people don't like it. I love it because of exactly what you said. "It fits perfectly with their songs." 1979 just makes you feel like you're a kid running around with your friends before life gets serious and crushes your spirit.🤘

My friend's band played, and covered The Beatle's Abbey Road album and Blue Oyster Cult's song "Burning for You". Cops came 3 times asking us to break it up, but mom and dad were home for the 3rd visit, and convinced the cops to let the band finish the set in exchange for the band cutting the volume from 11 down to about 8.
